I fail to understand why so much crap is happening on orkut. Believe me, i never used the site but i know one thing if there are any groups or communities, it should be allowed but yes ABUSIVE content should be monitored, rest alls fine- Am surprise and happy that rediff has the police letter with them- great reporting.
Well if there is a facility of REPORTING ABUSE for any community then why can,t our dear shivsainiks use tht....instead of troubling those innocent cyber cafe owners.

you must be kidding.. "report abuse" is working fine... i use it regularly to ban fake profiles.. and yes i confirm that those indeed get blocked..
on thing is for sure...just look at the kind of communities on orkut speading useless things on young minds. even the flesh trade is going on there. but at the same time it has always been difficult to stop such things on the internet. if not on this site then another, so much useless content is avilable. lets try to find out a better solution with the help of good IT Governance.
Are we free citizens of India. Can't we simply love or hate anyone on our choice. Haven't these goondaas got any work to do. There are major problems of unemployment, dowry, education, water, sanitation...am I talking french to them
Who ever said democracy was the panacea for all ills ? Adolf Hitler the greatest madman responsible for the largest number of deaths in history (52 million in WWII) was democratically elected in 1933 in Germany. Democracy may be suitable in some countries, but not in others.

Democracy is "the People" in total....when a Politician offers promises to the ENTIRE population, its democracy....as happens in USA & European elections.
When the Politicians offers promisies to certain SECTIONS of the people eg. religion, ethnic, langauage groups etc, then its NO longer democracy....as happens in Indian elections.
If you are not aware of this facility on orkut where in you can report any community as abuse. It takes mere 10 votes from 10 orkut users to ban that particular community.
Point i want to make here is that there are always better ways to handle situation or your anger using your head and avoiding use of your hands to demolish public properties.

I am not registered in orkut. Despite several attempts I am not successful I get the message - Bad, bad server. No donut for you.
Unfortunately, the orkut.com server has acted out in an unexpected way. Hopefully, it will return to its helpful self if you try again in a few minutes.

My Dear Indian, groups like "Shiv Senas" bring bad name to India, not us. Everybody has been doing his/her own work. It is these "Shiv Sainiks" who poke their nose into everbody else's business.
And moreover, being mute to all this bullshit propaganda of theirs will only make them stronger.
If you cannot oppose/comment, keep mum and just watch. Don't preach.

Nitin If you don't know about shiv sena then keep your mouth shut. I think you are not Mumnaiites.If you then you won't say at least negative about them. And fi you are not from Mumbai then please do not comment. Just for your information - Majority of Educated Hindus in Mumbai Votes for Shiv sena - BJP combination. Think why? If Shiv Sena is all about Mumbai, then can you please ask your "Shiv Sainik" bhai logs to remain centered to their Aamchi Mumbai only ..... and not try to "control" the Internet ......
