We need Electricity but not at the cost of freedom
by ratnesh srivastav on Jun 09, 2007 03:24 AM  Permalink

1) In blatant contravention of the assurance in the July 18 statement, the Hyde Act stops short of permitting full civil nuclear cooperation by placing restrictions on transfers of materials pertaining to uranium enrichment, reprocessing of spent fuel or production of heavy water.

2) It does not meet the "central imperative" of an "irreversible" lifting of restrictions on India as termination of cooperation can be triggered by any one of several factors such as testing, transfers by an Indian in violation of Nuclear Supplier Group or Missile Technology Control Regime guidelines, or non-conformity with any one of the numerous conditionalities imposed upon India under the legislation.

3) It requires an annual presidential "assessment" that India is in full conformity with its non-proliferation.

4) It mandates annual and detailed scrutiny of India's nuclear weapon programme.

5) It rules out the possibility of building up strategic reserves of nuclear fuel.

6) It envisages U.S. safeguards, over and above IAEA safeguards, including end use monitoring, which will enable U.S. inspectors to roam around our nuclear facilities.

7) It bans India from testing while China and Pakis and US themselves are free to do so.

8 ) It imposes restrictions on India's foreign policy on iran
9) It requires India to join the Proliferation Security Initiative as well as abide by the policies of the Australia Group and Wassenaar Arrangement.

We need this deal
by murki suresh on Jun 08, 2007 12:58 PM  Permalink

To improve the power supply situation in India we need to look in to all available sources of power generation and this is one viable option. So, we need this deal to conclude to enable india start getting more electricity to fuel the economic development.

God bless India and USA.

Thanks

Bush leader of all terrorist
by Abdul Rehman on Jun 08, 2007 11:22 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Kill Bush first only then this whole world can come to peace..
In order to make profit for his defence comp,US selling weapons to both pakistan and India.
He does not want peace but war across the world so that US can sell their weapons happily.
US has betrayed to all the nations whom they believed. We Indians should not let that happen.
Or else one day we will be slaves to US.
If we need to fight against pak then also we need to get permission from Bush.
US claims Pak is a terrorist country but still supplies all their high end weapons to them in order to suppress India.
If Iran can make Nuclear why cant we India make it?
why should we depend on US for that?

puppet PM manmohan
by kalyan ram on Jun 08, 2007 09:47 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

the most inefficient PM after sleeping former PM deve gowda. the manner in which he is ruling suggests that credit for economic reforms started in 19991 should be given to P.V. NARASIMHA RAO. without P.V.NARASIMHA RAO support and firm stand on it mr. manmohan singh would have never implemented economic reforms. frustrated with opposition for economic reforms mr.manmohan singh decided to resign three times, but P.V. NARASIMHA RAO gave moral support to him and covered him from the fire of opposition. it is very sad congress had ignored P.V.NARASIMHA RAO and his achievements in his final days. in a tragedy mr. manmohan singh was being hailed as father of economic reforms. but we all forget about P.V.NARASIMHA RAO who was a father figure to him in times of crisis.

India's stand on civil nuclear agreement.
by ACARF on Jun 08, 2007 09:04 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

It is known to us and many other nations that
USA earns a lot of money by selling defence
materials to other nations to maintain high standard of living. Their policies sometimes
look favourable to us but their intention is same.
Our leaders do understand it , but do not dare to be strong enough to face it.
See north Koria how a small country has made USA
to be reasonable and conceeded NK's demand.

At least India can say when we are buyer we will choose our option. If it is a civil deal
why not purchase N-Fuels from North koria or Iran. Better try to produce in India itself.
Give the message to USA and observe what happens.
Why USA is the only choice?

ACARF.

USA is the 'only' choice because we Indians do not have guts. If the people of the India decide to go for self sustenance, not only the USA but also its grand parent can't stop us. We had Muslim rule in the past, followed by European/British rule. Now we will be ruled economically by the Americans. Better get ready for that!
