Freedm of speech is what we claim we have in the country, why is this very freedom along with freedom of sight (pun intended) be curbed?
Who is Shiv Sena? They can't dictate laws and take the same in their hands. The very same people that claim to be moral police, can be seen passing lewd comments at women that pass by.
Interesting isn't it? A paradox in what their principles are.
Thanks to orkut I have got my long time friends back, and whats the harm in meeting up with new people? Building contacts?
Extending the same logic, Rediff should also be banned. Most of the readers would recall the discussion board writings during the Cauvery verdict and even now on the news about Rajini's Shivaji's release. If these discussion points do not generate hate/division among we Indians no web site can do any damage to our society. Common guys' grow up, by banning nothing is going to be achieved. Also Shivesainiks will always get some other issue to rack up public sentiment whether or not orkut exist.
My dear Blogers... you all are opposing Shiv sainiks for their show against orkut... but do you know that shivaji had a vision, dream to achieve something in life & captured a fort in the early age of 16 years with his few friends.. plz read the life story / biography of King Shivaji before u oppose anything... About Shiv Sena --- they come rather rash but today thanks to them other- wise we would have Muslim fanatics would have ruled India ... but still today Shiv Sena can create task forces against militants to save nation...

I thing It is absurd if the govt bans this site. Beacuse one person does something on this site that does not mean every one is like that. Our Constituion says "One honest person should not be punished even if 100 criminals Esacape punishment"
We fought the Brits when we thought our freedoms were being taken. We demanded freedom of speech. Why should be act Brits now? WAKE UP ITS A NEW WORLD...BAN THE CULPRITS AND NOT THE FAMILY.
Banning Orkut is like killing the patient instead of treating his disease. Its better the government ban ShivSena and put Bal Thakrey and his clan behind bars for dividing society and spreading fear and anarchy in the society.
plz banned shiv sena first which has created many problems in our country and about orkut it is social meeting place for those who loose connections of their friends and relatives

Have they forgotten the ban that was imposed on blogger.com? It was bypassed within flat 30 min. The political class has gone mentally bandkrupt. and if the continue such foolish acts, they will be banned soon. As for Shiv sena, it is a dead organisation and after retirement of Bala saheb, it has reduced to a gang of petty hoodlums with no credibility, just like rediff these days, publishing useless stuff to sensationalise non-issues.

i feel that orkut shouldn't be banned that is only the one place where old friends can ne in contact . And this shiv sena party should be 1st kicked out of maharashtra so tha we can use orkut
So govt wana ban Orkut because it is being misused right!! Freinds techonolgy always have both pros and cons. You will ban Orkut then some other site will come up like HI5. From last 5000 years there always being misuse of technology talk abt Nuclear weapons, IC engine etc tech is like a double edge sword. So just by banning it or running away from it will never solve our purpose. You cant force people to follow waht abunch of idiots feel is correct. I highly agreed with Siv Sena. Orkut should be banned. 2-3 weeks ago i read that a girl killed by a man, they became friends through Orkut only. Children going on wrong path by using Orkut. Either orkut should be stopped or a user should not give right information on orkut to avoid mishappenings

this is height of irrationalists conception. Put a ban on mobile phone, chat rooms, cafe's, schools, etc. also. Orkut should not be banned just because some lunatic as..oles misuse the tech. Hay you stop watching tv, movies, stop reading magazines and keep a glass full of negatives.

previously, you the so called caring people were against yahoo and other chat engines...before all these technologies you were again greeting cards...walk back a lil you all were against love letters...
go up is what i have to say...this is a forum where you can put your views...it is upto you if you put good views or bad...similarly orkut is just a community site...where you have good community and bad...its upto the user and their type they select these communities....
i have met soooo many frnd...school mates...college mates...people who worked in my previous company through this site and communities like this...i am against banning this...
anju jaisawal, what is in you hand is to good cultural upbringin to your kids...rest it is upto to the kid if he goes good way or the otherway...

huh..Anju, to kill someone one dont need orkut or anything. they just go and kill. If some1 watches TV and kills some1, shud TV be banned? foolish. There is a responsibility associated with everything, and certainly shiv sainiks are the last ppl on earth who know wut it means.
