people must be out of their mind. why should a social site be banned? Its a new age global society where loads of people connect to each other. All the distruction caused by stopping should be banned instead. Its like saying ban Ramayana as Ravan existed. It only needs to be monitored carefully. I am sure Orkut will take care of it.
shivsena should be banned first ..then we can think about other things.....these bloody hooligans have held the country to ransom and state machinery is also helping them.....All right thinking inteeligent people should leave this country where all this people with the brain size of that of a pea are ruling the country....

I totally agree with you. Every individual is free to air his/her views about Shiv Sena. Why should Orkut be banned for hosting anti Shiv Sena communities. It is the behaviour of Shiv sena members which leads to the formation of such communities. Is Shiv Sena was a civilized party, I am sure there would not have been such communities. Shiv Sainiks should themselves learn to live in a civilized way before going around attacking cyber cafes.
what a silly idea??...do these people think orkut is the only social networking site??...what stupidity!!...there are scores of social networking websites, if you ban one the other would become popular and more and more would sprung up...how could anyone stop it??...
its a freedom of expression and internet is a domain for communication. Orkut has done no harm. if orkut is banned there are so many other social networking site. how many can the govt ban?? its not possible to stop people from these activities. but instead turn a blind eye to all these nonsense, it will be better. Also look at the good things that orkut has done for us. Its really a good site for communicating and finding new aswell as old friends. ORKUT SHOULD NOT BE BANNED!!!!
Ban it - there are several instances where derogatory comments were put against national icons, communities, social groups, indian culture and values and individuals. Also children can easily identify the sources of ponographic materials and download it.
Though there is a review mechanism put by orkut. com, it is not effective and time consuming. The status today is any one can write anything citing a reason of freedom of expressions.
If orkut can review the content before publishing it and remove the unwanted/deregatory materials, then only it needs to be given access in India

dear Sunder.. why do u want to ban Orkut.. is Orkut only spoils others..no there are other sources easily available across cities and across online. there are few who really misuse because of this banning is really absurd.. do u think what ever shiv sena does is correct.. do u think they have rights to interfere in your personal affairs... then why do u say orkut needs to be banned.. it just needs some regulation..
