Orkut should not be banned but it should be provided with some regulations. It provides access to various people's different view and makes it a part of discussion. It also helps us making good and trusty friends which very less sites offer.

No, instead let the postings be filtered first and then available to all,i am sure the government instead of banning will consider some good measures to keep the community alive.
what a silly idea??...do these people think orkut is the only social networking site??...what stupidity!!...there are scores of social networking websites, if you ban one the other would become popular and more and more would sprung up...how could anyone stop it??...

Should India move from democracy to dictatorship, just because there are lots of ills in democracy?
Then why should Orkut be banned just because there is some inappropriate content regarding Shivaji. I am sure there would be many communities in Orkut praising Shivaji. Why not focus on them.
I havent seen a site better than Orkut that helps finding long lost friends. And I am sure there are thousands like me who have got in touch with dear friends who were lost in the journey of life.
