We all have the Right to Freedom of Speech. Orkut only supports that. If someone has said something, it is their opinion. If it's incorrect, reason it out with that person rather than resorting to violence. The Shiv Sainiks get away with destruction of a private property, and some people can't even discuss their opinion! It is simply preposterous! Banning the site will not help even one bit because you ban one, and one more is going to pop up. And another. And another. Is the government going to ban internet access for that? Wake up Ministers! Don't give the public an opportunity to ruin you. No matter how many contacts and power you have, you will be prosecuted if you mess with something like this. And I promise everyone who's reading this, if Orkut gets banned, I'll file a case against the Government for violating a fundamental right. Any one with me?
Orkut is a wonderful online community to meet old friends, to improve business circles and to exchange info in quick time. But people are misusing it to provoke hatred.Banning orkut is not a good idea, instead, a strict vigilance is needed to check for any misuse, abuse or posting of absurd matter. We cant blame Shiv Sena also cause they are doing some things which are good for us( Im not from Maharashtra). So its up to Orkut to decide how to monitor these kind of messages.Questioning one's right to speech or express an opinion is not a point here
Report to Google and if they don't take action then one must consider taking them on for instituting better regulatory procedures for Orkut. I think far too many people and communities are getting away with passing blasphemous remarks about India or Indians or their beliefs. You have the French fashion industry which has images of our Gods on their footwear or their 'G' Strings and they get away with it. You could retaliate by putting tattoos of Jesus on the bosoms of Indian models but that is not the way to tackle such an issue. We need to make the right kind of noise and get people to understand that we may be the world's most "tolerant community" but they can't stretch us and keep taking advantage of it all the time.
Like Orkut, there are several other social networking sites, very popular ones. How much is Indian Govt. going to ban on behest of anger of a bunch of people.
Even those bunch of people should know that there is no limit to scrapping in internet. Govt. should think of banning internet in India if it really wants to appease Shiv Sainiks.
Most of all, Shiv Sainks should remember, "no one can take your pride off; unless you give them the chance". For how long are they going to stop the dogs from barking outside?
When did shiv sena people started accessing ORKUT??? are they so literate enough to read english?? come one some stupid leader of their's might have instigated these pig heads...
