What do the Shiv Saininks think that by Banning something they'll be able to prevent it. History has its evidence that whenever u try to suppress things it evolves more with vengeance. Agreed that derogatory remarks against any community or religion or some national leader should not be allowed and orkut should pay special attention in curbing all this menace. But it definitely should not be banned, its an important medium of meeting n getting in touch with ur friends around the globe. And those who spread hatred or some vulger expression from this site should be banned, not the site itself! Plz Ban Shiv Sena instead! It'll be Good Riddance

Well no one should act as moral police as people know their limits.
Y not shivsaina should be ban, because the ShiSainik (Unsocial Elements) spreads crime n violence all over. and orkut is not responsible for any posts, if they think that then they also post something to these type of communities. but to ban orkut is not good idea.
Orkut needs to monitor the contents but these politicians and their evil parties are in the least accountable to anybody. We need more freedom. EC should be empowered to ban all crooked politicians and their parties.The politicians can be linked to most evil happening in this country.

The site should not be banned. What kind of democracy we are talking about if the group of community does not have freedom to speak or express their views. I beleive everybody has a freedom to speak and express their views we are not in a dictatorship driven country we are democratic and so i strongly beleive there is no problem. if somebody has problem then he or she should not jooin the community.

india is a country with vast diversity, and realistic sensorship is required so that no ones sentiments are hurt.tomarrow there may be talk of lifting ban on satanic verses which shall open a whole closet of dirty linen. its better such issue are take care intially and normal people live normal life
The Government thinks the right way to control anything is to ban it ... by that standard, Shiv Sena should be ones to be banned first, atleast orkut does not kill people!!

Hey, We are talking about Right to Freedom of Speech. But do we really understand the meaning of freedom? We have freedom to go anywhere in India. But can I come in your premises without you permission? I know one good story from Shiv Khera's book. A little boy said to father %u201CDad if I cut the string of the kite, it will go further high in the sky". Father reacted, "Don't do that it will come down". And same happened when the boy cuts the string. So freedom is like kite. The string of rules should be always attached to it. So if you have Right to Freedom of Speech, Can you speak anything?
Hey am I favoring to ban of orkut decision? No, I am against it. But simultaneously the content should be monitored and removed if it is objectionable.
