why not, i fail to see your point. orkut is relevant to users, millions of students. if the college student dont voice thier opinion, and dont want a mouthpiece, who else will ? do you think college students will protest ? only poplitical outfits, and thier student affiliations do.
publishing such news items is a joke and derogatory for site like rediff.com, agreed there may be some hate community on sivaji on orkut, but there was also a hate community on the country some time back....such protest clearly shows that these people consider sivaji superior to country...where were they at that time.....they dont have any other work except all this crap....
further, orkut is a social site...where people express there views n make friends....such ban will restrict the growth of the country. the youth is growing at rapid pace today and why are political organiztions stagnanting there growth.....may be the see there decline.....
liking some1 or not liking some1 is personal thing.....may be punjabis feel ranjit singh was better than sivaji.....and marathis may think vice versa.....
let people express there views freely......

It should never be banned.if anyone has any issues regarding some derogatory remarks,then there is a option for reporting abuse.Rediff also does the same.Here also some abuse players,religions,historic figures...but no one is calling for a ban on rediff.Is this because everying in our country is politically motivated? Orkut must not be banned..and i hope "The Indian Computer Emergency Response Team " is not a set of morons but instead made of intelligent stuff.Banning orkut will not serve the purpose.
I think of famous quote.. Arguing on the internet is like participating in the para-olympics, ... even if you win you`re still a retard. If u ban orkut, u can have 1000's of other sites, blogs whr people can put their view. Media should be careful while sensitizing the issue. That's the only way. I never knew such a hatred community existed, but now everyone knows :-)
The Shiv Sainiks never protested when the news about 'We hate India' community came to light. Why is it that they are protesting against the website when some people want to express their feelings against an individual?
Is an individual more important than a whole nation?
I guess it is the stupid Sainiks that should be banned from the country. They are the biggest traitors in the country if they give more importance to an individual than the whole Country.

very rightly said man. these siv sainik are another kind of terrorist of our society just like naxelites. m hindu even then i feel these siv sainiks are dangerous for our society, they r very mean minded , they create hue and cry when other people enter in mumbai for job.some times they fight on state some time they fight for religion. in my view instead of banning orkut govt should ban this party.
orkut ,orkut,everwhere in internet. i think its not possible to ban orkut in this modern world... rather that the principles or rules of orkut can be changed.. if a stranger is visiting my profile only when i (user) gives the permission to visit my profile....that could be safe .....
