Banning Orkut as many people have commented, is taking things to an extreme. Where were you guys when Da Vinci Code was banned ? And it was not even derogatory.

The da vinci code no where said Magdalene was an unvirtous woman. All it conjectured was Christ could have been a married person. This controversy was there for centuries and Dan brown only gave it a novel form. The same goes for lord ganesha while some take him as bachelor god in some parts of india, while in some parts he is always shown with siddhi and buddhi as his consorts.
how can someone even think of banning a world wide forum for free expression, for the sake a small time party in india? hey, how many MPs they have in parliament, 100, 200? huh :)
A party or its some narrow minded people, who is only in one state (even there in ruins) and talks abt a king who died and gone centuries ago, tries to force their will on the whole of the Republic of FREE India?
Come on, are these guys still think of some bygone king rather to take up issues faced by the people who live now? wake up guys, get a break!! :)

Their territory doesnt go beyond thane! If they had 100 MPS then balasaheb would call the shots and not mr. karunanidhi. Udhav thackery would have been the Telecom minister and not Dayanidhi!

People who want to see and talk reason need not think about Sivaji as an icon. It is just an example. put Sivaji aside, and put any name whom u consider as an icon, and assume that such a hate campaign is being carried out agaisnt him/her. The message is more imp, rather then examples. For those who dont know or dont want to know, Sivaji was 'Chatrapathi Sivaji', that means 'Emperor'. The Maratha empire was the only empire which during its peak almost encompassed the whole of what is present india. it is because of the maratha empire that u have a certain 'Rajnikanth' who is an icon down in tamil nadu. He is a Mahrashtrian, and his birth name is 'SIVAJI'. u will find many people with Marathi sounding family names in Tamil Nadu and Kerala. The Thanjavur Naiks r a prime example. all these people r nth generation maharashtrians who have stayed back in the places 4 or 5 centuries back even after the marathas left those places. coming back to Rajni, incidentally the name of his latest release which is bringing in crores to many tamilian producers is also 'Sivaji'. The main posters of this movie in the streets of chennai show Rajni in the get up of 'Chatrapthi Sivaji'.

Hello Guys, I have been observing lot of things keenly.... the TV, the internet, the movies, the newspapaers..... I feel like shit, the harm these so called communication agents causing to the world is so pathetic....
Sit for a while take a note of it.... While you walk on the roads, you can easily see the lust in Men and equally in women... Irrespectice its young or old.... The divide between communities has been elaborated out of proportion.... The war crimes, the appreciation of Immoral Heroes..... On the name of enterntainment teaching the public all sorts of Extra marital affairs.... Probably, in future it might turn out to be a fashion statemnt to flirt around....
Well, these destructions cannot be stopped... But atleast can be caustioned.... the technology is a DOUBLE EDGED SWORD.... Use it deligently or else it will simpy destroy you............

ya its bcoz of same shiv sena....riots happened in bombay n from then onwards kashmir hasn been at peace...

4 sum ppl like me,orkut is something which has provided a platform to be in touch wid old lost friends to whom u can not call regularly.nd even find some of them.on the other side few ppl think its jst wastage of time nd addiction.therefore those who dnt like dnt use it,but u can not force other individuals to stop usin orkut.
there's no moderation in india. ban this , ban that, ban anything that serves your purpose, ban anything that takes a bit of a hard work to police and moderate. there's no moderation.
