now its not possible to ban orkut bcoz pplwill use another resource ,but we hv to use safty while browsing...........
there r various sites whc impact bad effect on all,still ppl brwosing so it depends on taste, for scholll going parents hv to take care & for younger u r ur own parents now u hv to take care for urself, dont misuse any thing otherwise it will gv mis happning .now its up to u that u u really want to use safely dont add strangers,sont visit unknown ,if u want to visit in case make another fake id ,so all the best !!!!!!
Why rediff is much interested in this matter? Orkut is never misused unless u put ur personal details open to the public. What Shivasena is thinking might be correct as per their views but it is not fare to threat and crash cafes for such purpose. I think even google is not bothered abt this, but rediff is giving unnecessary hype .... !!
it is good to ban orkut 'coz teens and youth are mis leaded and pull to do great crimes like murder,cheeting etc.Orkut wont support our culture. if we do want to have such site we must first improve our self desiplin and should not have a narrow mind.

there are sites other than ORKUT If ORKUT is banned there are other social networking sites available to users.
So I don't think putting a ban on ORKUT will help.
If a child commits a mistake you don't KILL the child unless you are living in a TALIBAN.
SO WHOEVER WANTS TO BAN ORKUT MUST BE THINKING THAT INDIA IS UNDER TALIBAN RULE.

who cares whether orkut ban or run ! who reads those gossips in orkut. common orkut is like a tea stall and peoples gossip their. nothing to react to any msg. i use orkut for my own purposefully.
It is my personal experience that other than vulgar or unnecessary material, I found 99% best material on orkut. similar to my employer, government is behaving with biased approach.
orkut is a wonderful site helping u find your near n dear ones and keep in touch with them no wonder how far they are from u. But we must also respect other religions and others ideas and see that we do not hurt their sentiments.

guys banning orkut???? wat happened to the democratic consitution....all the different types of freedoms we learnt in our civics text-book....for sake of few hundered/thousands u cannot harm crores of Indians on orkut...speaking in terms of economics the ve externality is much higher the the -ve externatlity hence has a better outcome with regds to parametric outcome...
n there r various other social agendas for the indin political parties to attend rather then treating orkut something as a social malice...
n yeah where r the milind doeras n all the young MP's why arent they speaking something?????
n yeah there r thousands of clean n gr8 communities which glorify india n our leaders..so plzz dont ban it..get a lyf every1 concerned with banning it...

Rahul, u r right. If Mr. Whatever things that Orkut is being used to malign not only Shivaji but the Orkut itself. Instead of vandalising property and steering a nationwide histeria. One only needs to report that particular forum as an abusive forum with 100 different clicks. I personally believe Mr. Whatever can show his love and respect for Mr. Shivaji in that way better.

100% i AGREE WITH U AND i am sure instead of banning due to some stupid people made some hatred site of chattrapati sivaji... they should think of Creating some BEST SITE OF CHATTRAPATI SIVAJI AND invite all those who praise Sivaji to the community and thus prove the strength and win it...not by banning the site.
This is absurd...the govt cannot act on the whims and fancies of a few goons !! We are living in a democratic country and people ought to take criticism positively...Besides...Orkut is just not about spreading hate...When will the narrow minded politicians ever grow up in life ??

very rightly said man. these siv sainik are another kind of terrorist of our society just like naxelites. m hindu even then i feel these siv sainiks are dangerous for our society, they r very mean minded , they create hue and cry when other people enter in mumbai for job.some times they fight on state some time they fight for religion. in my view instead of banning orkut govt should ban this party.
I guess ban or no ban is not worth any discussion.. Internet is an uncontrolled medium for expression and unless individuals restrain themselves from doing unacceptable things there is not going to be any change... You ban orkut and there would be another andkut... It is like you ban J-e-M and they get another identity J-e-H... Leave it to individuals... Let us all perish if that is what we deserve as humans...
