Presidential candidate
by Vijayalakshmi G. on Jun 08, 2007 02:22 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

It seems Sonia wants Shivraj Patil, because he will be subservient to her.He is already a disaster as the Home Minister. He will prove to be a national shame as the President. A President should be a dignified person, who commands all-round respect!

Sonia and congress wants President to be impartial to outsiders but partial to them. Patil lost election and became Minister that too a Home minister SHAME why then this electionfor selecting candidates? Left also wants a candidate who will dance to their tunes. As a comrade why they are opposisng the speaker for the post? Their policy is that they will not rule nor allow others to rule except in three states. Even in Kerala like Anmtony congress there are infighting in the CPI(M)

We should have a non political and well educated President
by BostonPunekar on Jun 07, 2007 08:01 PM  Permalink

The success of Dr A.P.J Abdul Kalam as a president lies in the fact he dint have a political background and secondly had a good acadamic background so was connected to the knowledge domain. The next president should also be from similar backgrounds and we do have some really good and well known choices.

1> Mr Rahul Bajaj.
(Rajya Sabha MP, Prominant Industrialist but also a fierce defendent of development and ecconomic liberalisation , only one who can openly take the Left and the psudo secularists directly headon, grandson of famous freedom fighter Late Jamnalal Bajaj, educationally studied at St Stephens College Delhi and
topmost Harvard University in the USA )

2> Arun Showriee.
(Needs no introduction, biggest enemy of the Left is his best qualification , but also known as the man who stood for freedom of expression and journalism of courage, took Rajiv Gandhi headon during the Bofors scandal, took
tough stand on freedom of press and expression, a known anti currouption crusador, A known independent thinker, Educationally holds a Phd in Economics from the world famous Syracuse University in USA)

3>Mr N Narayan Murthy.
(The name itself is synomous with Indias sucess in Information Technology and the Knowledge domain. No better choice to describe him as a brand ambasador of India's economic sucess story. Educationally holds a BE and a MTech from IIT)

Any one of the above choices will keep India away from psudo secularist. Leftists, castists, & criminals.

Patil-Pranab race in Cong for President post
by Prathivadi Madhusudan on Jun 07, 2007 09:01 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

The best person to be the President of India is T.N.Seshan (ex-election commissioner). Politicians will not support him as he will be nightmare for them. When he was election commissioner, people of India came to know how powerful the post is and how these politicians made the EC a puppet. Now if Seshan becomes the President of India, people will know the real power of president and the governments will be very careful in doing things. Mr.Seshan will not be allowed as been done earlier because of two reasons one he will cause sleepless night to all the politicians irrespective of parties to which they belong, and second he belongs to brahmin community.

1>Dr Sarvapalli Radha Krishnan (Tamilnadu)
2>Vrahagiri Venkat Giri (Andhra Pradesh)
3>Basappa Danappa Jatti (Karnataka)
4>Neelam Sanjiva Reddy (Andhara Pradesh)
5>Ramaswamy Venkataraman (Tamilnadu)

Sonia Gandhi for President
by Hau Chin on Jun 07, 2007 08:38 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Why not Sonia Gandhi for President. She is energetic, knows politics well, love the country, she is proved a successful leader. For the first women president and for the good of the country, can we have a caring mother like President in Sonia. I believe so.

No true Indian would want a foreigner, who lied about her educational qualification, wealth and citizenship,to head their nation.Already the Indian polity is polarized on caste and communal lines due to her machinations. She would undoubtedly be a threat to the integrity of the nation.

Congress Candidates for Presidency
by Kalyan Kumar on Jun 07, 2007 08:21 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Finally the Congress candidate will be decided by the regional parties. Pranab Mukherjee is mainly to plaese the Leftists whose Somnath is already fancying as the consensus man for the top seat. Patil, Shinde and Karan Singh or vora are harmless yes men and do a courtiers role anywhere. So Sonia can also add Oscar Fernandez as the most pliant man to the Presidency to this list.

Both the persons are tired. No need to make them president. 9 out of 10 people will not able to tell what positions these gentlemen hold at present. My choice is Ratan Tata
