Climate Change
by Purna Vemuri on Jun 07, 2007 09:11 PM  Permalink

Developed countries are cheating undeveloped countries and Progressive countries by showing us as the main violaters, but they are not following actual systems and they are giving full freedom to thier Citigens to enjoy life. It is unfair and if developed countries control loss of nature, everything body in the world are safe and participate in Environment revolution.

Hi Palani,

Does that mean we should not take care of ourselves? Such cynical attitude is not good for you or for anybody else for that matter.

Cholera, typhoid & smallpox to INCREASE
by Sreyashi Ghosh on Jun 07, 2007 06:06 PM  Permalink

Working directly under WHO...I had access to medical reports by some renowned doctors. The have predicted thru' statistical modelling that :

Cholera will increase by 25-30 times....in India they say 2 crores may be affected, especially in Gangetic Plains.
Typhoid will increse 4-times....Also arsenic poisoning problem where water table is very shallow/falling - like Rajasthan, West Bengal.

Another problem coming back will be smallpox, which is coming in more virulent form...worse mutant that can kill in lakhs.

Very frightening reports.

Save the Earth....Live the Hindu way of life
by swan on Jun 07, 2007 05:55 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

the world needs to learn a few things from the Hindus. many muslims n christains mock Hindus praying animlas ,plants, rivers etc....but only this way of living n respecting the nature can save this world from the disasters . the world has come to this stage coz some greedy fools had kept material gains above nature.

Pause for a moment and think : did you add any value at all, by such an irreverent response ??

Don't add noise when, for the moment, you can neither affirm nor positively refute whatever is being said.

You can have your say when you are ready to contribute something that takes the debate meaningfully farther. That's the key.

Sorry for butting in again, but a clarification is in order : my earlier reply about adding value, or keeping mum, was in response to Deepak's "Are you done, or you still have something else to say".

dear deepak

u should not make such foolish statements. u should give arguments.

not only hinduism, but jainism and budhism also teach people to love all other animals. but unfortunately how many hindus, jains and budhists follow the teachings of their religions? similarly most of the christians and muslims do not follow their religious teachings of loving even all human beings. MANY RELIGIOUS PRIESTS OF DIFFERENT RELIGIONS PREACH THEIR FOLLOWERS TO HAVE MORE CHILDREN, WHICH IS DISASTROUS FOR THE WORLD. MUSLIM POPULATION IS INCREASING ALL OVER THE WORLD FOR THIS REASON, AS MANY MUSLIMS SEEM TO FOLLOW WHAT SUCH FOOLISH MOOLHAS TELL THEM.

Story of a Tiger and Goat
by Mayadhar Moharana on Jun 07, 2007 04:13 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

There is a small story of a Tiger and a goat. Both of them were drinking water from a Small River. The Tiger was in upstream and Goat on the downstream. After drinking the water Tiger came near goat and roared. You goat, You do not care for me. You should have seen I was drinking water and you should have drunk after me. Because you were drinking, muddy water came near me and I had to drink muddy water. I will not pardon you for your mistake. I will kill you. The goat went on explaining, when he is drinking water in the down stream compared to the tiger, rather he was drinking muddy water created by tiger. But tiger did not listen and killed the goat and had a good feast.

Like wise the developed countries are polluting the environment and doing nothing, rather they are accusing poor 3rd world countries for polluting environment giving example like gases coming out from agricultural waste, cow dung etc. What a silly complain. We will live in most luxurious way but you should stop farming and die first. It is high time to mobilize public opinion against these tigers.

Your are right my friend. US is the biggest polluter in the world. It pollutes around 40 times the order of india and china despite the alarming facts escalted to US govt time and again that the cost to Economy due to global warming would run up in trillions of dollors! How foolish!! But certainly mother nature has her own ways of making one realise!!

Any idea who will be effected most by this mad arguments for shake of arguments that we first should make US bend... it's the poor countires like ours.. rich can efford to live within artificial walls to be safe from pollution.. US is a big offender but we are doing no good by wasting out time discussing US rathar than taking lead to stop killing the eco-system altogether, can we start of simple things like taking the old bag to market instead of demanding a plastic bag from the shop keeper..
oh i recall one more moral story of why an one should plant a mango tree when the chunk of the fruit will be savoured by subsequent generations and not us... can we start cleaning our home first than look outside.. and all this talk of development, are our villages better of because of the industrialization or livelihood of the simple agrigarian people are being robbed of as the natural environment that they survives on is being killed by industrial pollution... land..water... air... we need to re-think and introspect rather than just pointing fingers to the obvious biggest polluter US
