guruvayur temple and the union minister
by rao cln on Jun 05, 2007 10:01 PM  Permalink

The Union Minister could not understand the propriety and the religious practies of the Devaswom. At the same time, religion is the personal belief. The Hindu religious heads through out the country should evolve a cost effective and convenient process of conversion of one to Hinduism and the Government should provide a legal plot form to register the same. This would enable the posterity to follow the religion one likes irrespective of the one inherited from parents. It is not out of place to mention that a vast majority of persons/families, who are not eligible as per Constitution, are availing Reservations penning them as Hindus and practising other religions at home thus depriving/robbing of the benefits of or from scheduled caste families. It is here the role of the Union Minister and his Government to prevent such mal-practices and frame suitable rules/guidelines.

V Ravi has played dirty politics to strengthen his claim for Chief Minstership
by BostonPunekar on Jun 05, 2007 09:42 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Its a simple case of man with Chief Ministerial ambitions to make his voice heard in the congress echolons and have sympathy towards him.

Readers please note , No is disputing anyones religious rights. Issue is why do u wish to meddele in someone elses Temple. Stay in your own religious mosques or churches or gurudwaras. No one is objecting, its when u interefere in someone elses temple of worship the dispute has started. That too to create a political point when the LDF government is in a midst of a crisis and some one from Congress like V Ravi who himself is a Chief Ministerial candidate. This issue to use the sacred Temple to score personal political points is the biggest of contention.

Infact people from all religions should condemn V Ravi for playing dirty politics.

Now he will shed crocodile tears to gather sympathy from the congress high command. And the end result being project himself as the most favoured chief ministerial candidate from the Congress.

Notable has been the absulute ignore of the issue from the Congress high command, as his detractors in the Congress also know what games he has been playing in this isssue.

Mr Vailer Ravi is just showing his Nuisance value, and enjoying his 30 seconds of fame.

There is no religion involved but simple politiking to score a point against both with the LDF as well as with the Congress High Command. In the end make the Temple of Guruvayur the scapegoat.

Surya I have said this below too I am again saying it.

The case is simple a practising christian entering the Temple of Guruvayur to delibrately create a controversey and to attract attention.

There is no high caste or low caste issue at all from any of the above posts or the article too.

It is a simple incedent of delibrately doing an action to attract attention to score ones political ambitions.

Hindus do treat all people with equal dignity. This is 2007 , and not 1931. Times have changed and benifits of reservation have penetrated deep. You cannot make that statement in 2007 u have an uleterior agenda.

Its an Athesit and Comee propoganda which is not even heard beyond Kerala and Tamilnadu.

BJP creating this in Kerala ?????

thats funny..!!!!!!!!!!

BJP did not even win a single seat in Kerala. UDF and LDF are the only capable groups here who are so busy pulling each other down that you dont need the BJP for doing that..!!!

And add to that the different Congressmen who so do not see eye to eye that they are themselves capable to defeat the Congress without the BJP even having to think doing anything.

Guruvayur Head Priest Narration is Convincing
by indira murthy murthy on Jun 05, 2007 09:41 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Your report from the Head Priest of Guruvayur temple is convincing on punyaham. The Minister, his son and the Media are spoiling their time instead of using it for more public service. There is no harm for temples maintaining their old practices, so long it will not effect public. I THINK VIPs SHALL BE BARRED FROM ENTERING THE TEMPLES that waste Public time and energy who wait in Ques for Darshan of their Almighty. This will avoid all nonsensical reactions from them later. They must understand that before the Almighty everybody is same and no VIP distinction before him.

Law must come to ban Inter-religion marriage as it affects future generations.
by Kuppuchamy Selvam on Jun 05, 2007 09:38 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Stringent law must prevent inter-religion marriage(including love marriage).
Also conversion must also be prevented at any cost.

This type of temple issues will never happen.

We need Bhagavad Gita classes in school. We need to infuse the value of Sanathan Dharma early on in a child's life.

For that we need to make India a Hindu Republic.

For that BJP has to win by majority without coalition.

For that Hindus need to get together and vote Congress off and BJP in.

For that Hindus need to be united.

For that Hindus should respect the varnashram and not try to bash Brahmins or Kshatriyas.

For the people need to grow up.

So, grow up Hindus!

Dont go on name.
I am sure thats what all people in dark go by that.
In India Hindus does not give freedom to weak n poor low caste people to worship their own religion.
Thats the reason you hear lot of RSS goons trying to terrorise weak poor people who follow other religions.
This issue of religious freedom should be brought to international forums n discussed.

try something new my friend. I don't see any country giving more religious freedom, given the kind of history it has had! Taking it to international forums is an insult to india. People who don't understand religion would be commenting on it! Ofcourse i might end up sounding haughty and arrogant... but it's an internal issue for us. We must deliberate it ourselves.

You have written, "Stringent law must prevent inter-religion marriage(including love marriage)". Do you know that it is now 2007 and not 1807? Grow up, pal and welcome to the new world. When other nations and countries are advancing by leaps and bounds, here we are, crying over who should enter a temple and who should not? Shame on us all!

Value of a Brahmin
by Inadvertently Human on Jun 05, 2007 09:26 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

This shows the massive inferiority complex and jealousy of middle and lower castes against Brahmins. The Nabmoordri has clearly mentioned his position. Rules are rules and they cannot be bent for anyone or anything.

You guys deserve to be slaughthered by Islam and Xians. Who needs idiotic Hindus anyways. If if there are few Hindus if they adhere to Shastras like Brahmins then it would suffice. This also goes for all pesduo-secular confseud Brahmins.

You wannt become a Brahmin? Stop smoking, drinking, meat eating, take showers, practice Vedic chants and cultivate devotion to the Lord. Dont talk about what you dont understand and crap in you pants about it!

You idiots!

People look at this from a rational point of view and try to justify their claims. Has anyone thought about the position of the head priest? Even if a Brahmin sheds blood then an eloborate ritual get carried away for purification purposes.

All the casteist idiots who are waiting for oppurtunity to jump into the brahmin bashing wagon to belittle Brahmins.

If it were not for us Brahmins all you people would have been Mohammedans and Christians by now. Thank God that Brahmins exist to we can teach our children the God's own Eternal Dharma religion.

I am sure one day in future everyone will be able to enter the temple. Rituals are getting broken by law as people seek RESPECT!!. Rituals and castes were originally created to divide people so that the rulers had better control. This is understandable during that age, now in 21st century we need new laws, and temples have to learn to adapt to changes. Regarding GOD, no one has seen or felt GOD.My christian friend told me strongly in 1980 that Jesus was comming next year. He said all signs point to his coming. Its now 2007 and he still says the same..next year :). Hindus says he has already manifested in many forms..but none has been able to exterminate diseases or bring world peace. If GOD existed there would only be happiness in the universe. Note : You not have to have unhappiness to value happiness..I hope Mr.Satheesan understands which century he lives in and start making ritual changes and start respecting people. I know he wont do it cause his job and his sons jobs will be at stake. He knows that ones he opens the door, someday he will find a Christian converted hindu doing the pujas :). That day is not far my friend.
