"Punyaaha" is just a richual, y make all puss of it?. In our houses even if there is a child birth, if there is a death etc., we do punyaaha.
There are so many ancient AGAMA (Pooja ritual) among hindus. Guruvaayur fallows on such system, now how to change it? who is the right person to change it? is it not a faith Question? Hindu darma is 5000 years old, other relgeons are much younger, that is y our system might look outdated. But they have no right to Question our faith.
Minister Vayalar Ravi & his precious son Mr. Ravi krishna, who claim to be Hindus, should understand one thing. Basically Hindu religion is a concept evolved Gurumukena, that is hrough the GuruIn the case of the Guruvayoor temple this Guru happens tyo be the Thanthri. It is not Mr. Ravikrishna's claim that he was prevented from entering the Guruvayoor temple, but the temle authorities performed some rites after his entry there.What rites the temple authorities perform in the temple is laid out by ancient custom and hence you can not comaplain about it. If you follow those rites and instructions be a Hindu. If you do not believe in following them no one is compelling you to stasy a Hindu, the doors are very much open and some Achchan in some Palli will be very happy and glad to harvest your soul, if you have one, for the Holy Sea. After all the holy Sea has its outlets all over Inida onkly fopr such harvests of Non- believers and half-believers. God help Christ if he has to have such a produce harvested for him.
Siomilarly every one is complaingin about the Christians beuing refused entry into temples. But no one talks aboput the Church refusing baptism to the children of those who have been heard to have indulged in religioyus rites in Hindu temples. Why don't these guys go and conduct protests in many Muslim religious shrines where non-Muslims are prevented beyond certain limits. They dare not.
For your kind information, in karnataka SC people are trained in rituals and are appointed by govt. if u want enlighten please visit famous Chamundeswari temple in MYSORE.

Whatever the "Thantri" or "Headpriest" says is totally rubbish. Who is he to decide the origin of a man or a woman in that matter. Vayalar Ravi's or Singer Jesudas's matter became prominent issues because of their popularity among the masses. Almost all Malayalees recognize them. What about the numerous other ordinary non-Hindus who have faith in Krishna and enter the temple for worship? It is not that Lord Krishna will not bestow his blessings on non-Hindus; it is the middle-men like the so called Thantris and Pujaris who are making the things worse. We are living in a most modern age and stopping a person from entering a place of worship is primitive and unjust. For the Thantris, non-bhramins, especially their young girls, are un-touchables during the day & most sought after partners in the bedroom during the night. What a contradiction! I have witnessed many such Namboodiries (the so-called Thantries) fulfilling their lust with non-brahmin ladies. It is high time that the attitude of the Thantries changed and worshipping at a temple is made open to everyone. After all, every creations of the almighty is equal in front of the GOD. Belief in GOD must be the yardstick for entry to a place of worship; and NOT the cast & creed of the visitor.
What Vayalur Ravi is going to tell about non-muslims are allowed in masque? Forget about the non-muslims even the converted muslims are not allowed in Mecca which is supposed to be the holiest place for the person who is practising islam.
Even in some parts the converted Christians are not treated at par with other. They are not allowed to perform the Mass or benidiction.
They can find lot of ways to shatter Hindu sentiments and many of the press reporters also with them to spread the news with their intellegence to make a great story. When people will learn to understand the religious sentiments?

What a selective misquote from a muslim. This is what the Prophet said in his final sernmon: "An Arab has no superiority over a non-Arab, nor does a non-Arab have any superiority over an Arab; also a white has no superiority over a black, nor does a black have any superiority over a white except by piety and good action. Learn that every Muslim is the brother of another Muslim and that Muslims constitute one brotherhood. Nothing shall be legitimate to a Muslim that belongs to a fellow Muslim unless it was given freely and willingly. Do not, therefore, do injustice to yourselves."
Thus, two things: 1.Muslims are brothers of each other and can have superiority over one another by piety alone. Piety means "piety" as per Islam. 2.Nothing shall be legitimate to a Muslim that belongs to a fellow Muslim unless it was given freely and willingly.But what belongs to a non-muslim is legitimate for a muslim.

Why the fuss? If I go to the Vatican and demand that I see the Pope, will I be allowed? Similarly, in Mecca only Muslims are allowed to perform Haj. The Torah and Tslmud lay down specific rules for Jews. The Tantri is following rules made by Adi Shankara. Note that there is nothing about untouchability or prevention of entry of Hindus of any kind. It is only about non Hindus and the Temple is only following the correct definition of Hindu as per Adi Sankara. In the case of people from Kerala, the matriarchal system is used as a benchmark. If Mr Ravikrishna were born in any state other than Kerala, he would be treated as a Hindu, assuming that his father is one.
There hae been a slew of ignorant comments on this forum by people without any mental clarity. The TOI came up with a less than intellectual article in this regard about how Hinduism must change. Let them suggest that to other religions, especially the one with the largest following in Asia and Africa! To expect the merest glimmer of intelligence from the likes of Prannoy roy, Rajdeep Sardesai or the noxious Karan Thapar is like expecting for a snow storm in Riyadh.
The Temples in Kerala follow rules strictly, but are under siege from forces inimical to their very existence. We should respect the last bastion of tradition and the sacred space that Guruvayoor provides, despite every attempt to belittle and crush Sanathana Dharma.
