Mosques were used where Muslim Preachers asked faithful to vote for Congress
by Bhaskar Chattopadhyay on Jun 06, 2007 04:09 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Mosques were used where Muslim Preachers asked faithful to vote for Congress!

This is being reported by the Deccan Herald.

It also says, Muslims were told that of BJP wins, Muslim men will NOT be allowed to wear Burkha and Men not be able to wear Skull Cap.

There was a time, when Maulana Azad asked Nehru whether he could use Muslim Religious Mullahs in United Province (now UP) to vote canvass for Congress, as a counter to Muslim league who was using Mullahs and Masque to win election.

NEHRU SAID: NO.

This is the Link:

http://www.deccanherald.com/Content/Jun62007/district200706055854.asp

And this is what JD(S) leaders, thmselves Muslims are quoted:

However, JD(S) MLC Y S V Datta and JD(S) candidate Aboobakar Natekal put it in different way. %u201CThe fear created by the Congress among the electorate that if the BJP comes to power, Muslim women will not be allowed to wear bhurka while the Muslim men will not be allowed to wear cap - changed the face of the polls.%u201D
%u201CIn addition, the %u2018order%u2019 given by the priests in all the mosques on Friday, a day before Ullal went for polls, helped the Congress win the polls by a margin of 8,032 votes,%u201D Mr Datta opines.

That may be true, but to be frank, I din't find any such report.

Bottom line is: It proves Congress is rallying minorities religious and using Masque. So its claim to be "secular" is not true.

There is a larger question. I am NOT against Muslims, or Masques. But its true, if Congress is using Masque, IT WILL PUT WHATEVER SMALL MUSLIM SECULARS EXIST. IT WILL SURRENDER MUSLIMS TO MULLAHS.

This is very dangerous in the long run. Don't you agree?

It seems people are getting over jubiliant at this victory .Some of them are feeling that this is because of the bandh called in Mangalore. They are forgetting that strting from Madikeri entire costal area belongs to BJP.They are also forgetting that BJP and JDS are speerate parties which have to keep their partys inteest first. No one would like to lose their voters. And this government is 200% better than previous Dharam Singh government atleast something is hapening.During the last government entire governmet was at standstill with no new plans , no new proects .This government is atleast taking quick decisions. If this government completes its complete period givernment can pack off for atleast another 10 years.

Well said.
Infact if both these parties sit and strategise, they kick out congress for ever from state.

Also in ULLAl these 2 parties did not strategise. JDS decided to put candisate in the last min.

Well done Congress! Starting of an end for JD S BJP
by Bisheshwar Mishra on Jun 05, 2007 02:21 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

We all know progressive leaders like S M Krishna will make what Bangalore is suppose to be. Bangalore will have to gain back every thing it has lost. JD S and Deve Gowda is interested only in politics nothing else for development. Though Kumaraswamy has requisite talent to do good for Karnataka but unfortunately he is a puppet. We all know it is the start of an end of non governance. Thanks JDS for the misrule

Congress will sweep elections if held now ?
by Rahul on Jun 05, 2007 01:45 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Congress would sure sweep elections in Karnataka if elections are held now. This is the beginning of end of a government based on unholy alliance between BJP and JDS. This is the most corrupt government Karnataka has witnessed so far.

Actually, congress became third in last election. BJP came first, JDS second, congress third.

COngres tried to outstage JDS, and then jds threw out congress and made deal with BJP.

BJP's handling of allies are much better than Congress. It will never try to upstage its ally, as its plan is long term view.

So far my understanding goes, bjp and jds will maintain their deal and fight elections next time. May be together, may be jointly.

Never. BJP JDS are doing good job. They will win the elections if the elections are held. Ullal is just an exception. Karnataka will be the first entry for BJP to rule the entire south.

If ullal is an exception then what about Chamundeshwari by-election where Sidda Ramaiah defeated the combined candidate of both BJP & JD(S)?

Didn't SiddhaRamaiyah's margin came down drastically?

Also, he will not be productive in COngress being a casteist leader.
