No use lamenting, Billy. The common sense of this Nation has been blunted to senselessness. & no use blaming the Politicians neither the people.
India has cultivated a herd mentality -
Ready to be herded by anyone, anywhere & anytime.

POW's in Pakistan
by RAJ KUMAR on Jun 04, 2007 02:23 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Dear Readers

My heart blleds wheever i hear about the POW languishing in the jails of pakistan. Had our government reacted properly after 1971 most of these bravehearts might have reached home. We had 90000 of their soldiers in captivity and almost all the top brass of east pakistan Army. Yet we were not able to negotiate the return of our own soldiers. Even Congress leadership knew that PAk is holding POW's but no one bothered. We celebrate victory day and Shaheed Divas but no political leader sheds a tear for the unknown heros who despite being alive as officers /men are living the life of animals. We cry over palestine/Iraq/Afghanistan somalia and any dammn place on earth but not for these unsung bravehearts.Look at the fate of that inncent bride who lost her husband after four days of marriage and waited 20 agonising years for his return. On the other side one chief minister cant wait even for a day to get his daughter back in exchange of hardocore militants. That reflects the attitude of these politician towards the forces. Not a single MP has his son/son in law serving in Indian armed forces. Neither they will alow them to do so. They cry over kiliings of dacoits/terrorists naxals and will never even speak when it comes to soldiers dying in the mountains of Kashmirs or jungles of Arunachal/Assam/Mijoram. I feel very sorry for the families of these soldiers but unfortunately even their bretheren in Uniform have also abandoned them as not even a single Army/AIr chief h

in continuation to above message.

feel very sorry for the families of these soldiers but unfortunately even their bretheren in Uniform have also abandoned them as not even a single Army/AIr chief has ever spoken a word about POW's in the pakistani jails despite knowing the harsh realities. People returning from these jails/prisons have listened the cries/sufferings of these soldiers but all goverments including the present one turns a blind eye to the requests of the families of these soldiers. One such example is of FLt LT Tambay. Why our goverment can not pressurise the UN/US/Geneva for release of these soldiers. Look at Israel and learn from them how to respect the men in uniform. They faced opposition from entire world over attacking Palestine when four of their soldiers got kidnapped/taken hostage. But not for a sec they cared for the world/UN.Our MOD speak of deficiency of quality menpower in defence forces and especially the officers in Army. Do you expect people to feel motivated to join forces when they read such discouraging stories of ill treatment given to men in uniform. A soldiers die once but in India he dies many deaths. learn to respect your sentinals. You live peacefully you sleep under the blanket of basic security provided by them. Dont just consider them a government employees. They are also human beings.

Jai HInd.

Very well said, we all have been saying so much about the politicians that our country rots with. Can we not come together leave our fancy lifestyles form a political party and make our nation great?? Look at what the so called younger generations of politicians like Sachin Pilot have done caused all this chaos with Gujjars. Does any one remember that BSF Jawan who was shot point blank by Bangladesh security forces?? No one even bothered to comment on it.

Why would they? The BSF Jawan was not going to herd them to violence & demand (rather blackmail) the Society for giving Backward Status, in other words arm them with a weapon for grabbing all concessions/ quotas & fill their pockets.
Who worries for the Nation anyway? Worst still, who cares for some petty soldier? A Single Soldier dies or thousands die; nothing matters as long as one is secure within the boundaries of one's own Ivory Towers? This may sound outrageous but sadly, it is 100% True.
