Kudos to Reservation( & Awara Uncle)....The funny side of it is:
by ajay shamasundar on Jun 05, 2007 10:41 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Plz read...this is the FUNNY side of reservation:
The Reservation story began this way:
FIRST the government thought they need the BACKWARD classes in GOVERNMENT coz the upper castes are enjoying all the benefits there.
So the reservation was done.
SECOND the UPPER CASTES decided it is better to work in private sector since the Govt sector is 'flourishing' because of reservation & they dont have place there.
THIRD : Because of the upper castes, the private sector started BOOMING & after the entry of Computers...PRIVATE SECTOR was the BEST PLACE to be in.
So now what???
GOVERMENT SECTOR STILL REMAINS 'BACKWARD'.So now they want a share of the PRIVATE SECTOR pie coz of that.
But does any 'reserved'backward class guy think why the private sector is so RICH now???????

So so so....what next??? 10 yrs from now:
The backward classes need RESERVATION in supply of water, electricity, transportation & finally even in Singing the NATIONAL ANTHEM. All because of the utter disarray the country will be in when things told by our dear friend 'Awara Uncle' will happen in the near future...
WELL THOUGHT 'AWAARA UNCLE'.
INDIA SHINING.

Whole country should be termed BC (minimum)
by Bihari Lalu on Jun 05, 2007 10:40 AM  Permalink

In India there are about 100 crore people. Above 18, there would be about 80 crore (May be more or less) people. Out of this 80, suppose, 10 are ST, 20 are SC, 10 are MBC, 5 are OBC, then call the rest of the 35 crore people as Backward Class (BC). This way, no one will crib about reservations, discrimination etc.. Summary is, Term the entire nation as "Backward"

Is SC/ST quota a big issue?
by ss on Jun 05, 2007 06:47 AM  Permalink

I think SC/ST issue is not that big. People think just by categorising a community as SC/ST there chances of seats in universisties is safe. But why are people not fighting united aganist govt to ask for a study loan for all the students in the country so if a guy wants to be an engineer he will take the loan study get a job and pay it as it happens in western world.
why is the problem being sidelined and why people figthing among themselves instead of fighting united aganist the govt?

'We need reservation & security not money'
by Raghavan Kesavan on Jun 05, 2007 06:19 AM  Permalink

The community has resorted to violence and destroyed life and property in th enemeof violence . the demand for president's rule itself shows hat the agitation was politically motivated .If violence was not their motive ,why was it the each memeber of the community carrying poles of the size size of a palm tree and other leathl weapons while going for the agitation.? If they think that by resorting to violence they can achieve things , what will happen if eery community folloe suit ?
This agitation is the harbinger of he greater trouble that the nation will have to face on account of he idiotic policy of reservation.the policy of reservation clearly devides people and the nation will witness the worst situation whre every community will e fighting against the other as in civil war . Nogovernment will beable to sly the devil that the idotic politicians have raised in the policy of reservation.
now at least to give the ordinary people a chance to live in peace in all he sttes , the government should promulgate an odinance ,that no agitaion shall e allowed if the members of of participating cary any staff , poles , letahl weaspons etc and tha no demand shall be ever be condidered or granted if he people demanding it resort to violence .Thei proclamation shall be incorporated in the constitution by an amendment in th einterest of the ordinaty public of the nation. The present agitation shows that ther is an urgent need for this .The police should also be i

Wait for the next step now....!!!
by BostonPunekar on Jun 04, 2007 11:50 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Now here is the next step.

1> Jats will agitate to be included as ST's.

2> Yadavs will agitate to be included as SC's

3> Kurmis will agitate to be included as BC's

4> Ahirs and Patels will agitate to be included as the MBC's

It will be like a relay race....!!! One gets the benifit the other caste will start a new agitation.

Best solution...

Declare the entire country Republic of India as Backword..so defualt anyone and everyone in the country is of a backword caste.

End this debate of backworness and forwardness , when every one is a backword, every one gets reservation. So you can implement 100 % reservation.

Very sound , pragmatic and practical solution.

Segregation/Reservation...No matter how you name it, is a failed policy for many years in many countries. The idea that we will defect discrimination by introducing it in a diffent form is riduculous. If we reject discrimination, we must reject reservation. I know this is a politically sensitive and difficult issue. But if our politicians were looking for an easy job, they should have opted for some other profession (Not sure what that is).

Governments job is to make sure that opportunities are open to all without and selection is based on Merit and merit Only !!!

If you give someone a fish, he will eat for a day. If you teach him how to fish, he will eat for a lifetime.

One more request. People on this blog need to be sincere about their thoughts and respectful about others opinion.

Mr. Imran,

Politicians are of course doing their other professions which probably did not strike you.
There are true instances of MPs involved
in
1) rape and murder
2) Human trafficking
3) Agents of violence
etc.etc.
