IN MY PERSONAL VIEW AN APOLITICAL PERSON WITH IMPECCABLE COMPETENCE SHOULD BE THE PRESIDENT OF THE COUNTRY.BESIDES FEW EARLIER DR. KALAM HAS BEEN THE BEST CHOICE SO FAR.WE HAVE SEEN WHEN PRIME MINISTER (MEANING CONGRESS)CHOSE ONE OF HIS/HER MINISTER FOR THE TOP JOB THEN THE CHOOSEN ONE COULD FUNCTION AS MERE RUBBER STAMP ONLY.IT IS OBVIOUS.
THIS TIME SAME IS GOING TO HAPPEN.WE ARE A WITNESS NOW TO THE SAME FOR OUR PM.WE HAVE CAREFULLY WATCHED THAT HE ATTEMPTS TO TAKE A CHAIR IN A FUNCTION EITHER ALONGWITH SONIA OR AFTER SHE TAKES THE SEAT,IN A FUNCTION JOINTLY ATTENDED BY THEM.HE THINKS HE IS PM COURTESY MADAME SONIA. NOW SAME IS GOING TO HAPPEN WITH SELECTION OF NOMINEE FOR PRESIDENT.
IN THE END I CONCLUDE THAT WE MAY THINK OTHERWISE BUT THE CONGRESS POLITICIANS ARE GOING TO MAKE A POLITICIAN THE PRESIDENT.
WHAT ABOUT MR. NARAIN MURTHY.REMEMBER WHAT PRESIDENT KALAM SAID ABOUT HIM WHEN ASKED A QUESTION ABOUT HIM FOR THE TOP JOB? " Fantastic! Fantastic!! Fantastic!!!.
President , should be a person who deserves for the post. He should have an identity to the country, He should prove himself in one field, whether it may be science or politics. He should be an inspiration for the common people. A ray of light and hope in the people heart. As itis seen women are being deprived in this country in many ways, a women president would be an ideal choice

women and man is not question real problem is Question of capability cannot be set aside. One who is capable and fit for position should only be endorsed for such position. Only because she is a woman, you should not consider her. And by the way who is she?. What is her contribution to any field. Politicians should be barred from becoming presidents. PM is already a puppet, and now Sonia wants another puppet as president. Isnt it funny that none of the political parties is endorsing/supporting Dr. Kalam's re-election. while in every opinion poll conducted people have already hailed him as their president.
So are we having our representatives in pariliament? Or goonda's, mawali's.
president should have the background any of technically sound person not a political sound person because they cannot plan innovatively they should depend on the officials only. We need a person like abdhul kalam. let us start to raise our request we want abdhul khalam . pls continue with your existing job.

yes. we need Abdul Kalam. Because, he inspire the younger generation. We need such class person to inspire/motivate younger generation. We don%u2019t need any casual politician, who can not motivate younger generation. Because the President is going to be the identity of the country, so people don%u2019t want a regular politician as their identity.

what do you mean by patriotism? do you want the president to go and fight terrorism in kashmir? patriotism is a thing of the past.....be practical take it easy.
what these political background presidents are achieving better to non-political.this is just a political gimmik parties wharever they are telling.they want to keep their henchmen,puppets at the chair and willing to get political benefits. ABDUL KALAM is the best president till now.he has to be re-elected to get real flavore and charisma to the president chair.
Please stop such innocent question by Rediff. Everybody knows that our next president's future is in the hands of our Bloody Sonia Gandhi (who doesn't know anything of ABCD.. of politics........ may be she might of learn AB...). First of all People should eliminate Mrs. Sonia Gandhi and her family from the Politics then only India will become Super power...

Naturally it will be decided by feckin politicians again... Some times Readiff asks such Mickey Mouse questions which appear great but of less use some thing like who should be in indian cricket team ? who should be manager? bla bla bla
In fact the question should have been like, what are the powers of prez which he is not exercising what are the the rights of people which they don't know? ofcourse people will not be interested in that, and so many responces to silly questions shows that we are just here for time pass
What can Rediff do? They ask the right questions, but is that enough?
Can rediff act as a catalyst and mobilize mass pubic action ? Can it generate anything to the level of a television or newspaper level publicity to trigger some positive action (say intervention from the courts)?
Rediff! In what way can you mould the political opinion?
We would really appreciate even the smallest bit of action from your side - so pls Rediff, do something rather than just acting as a repository for a pool of thoughts.
As regards your query, we want an educated person who is well respected, known for his/her good deeds for the society and can stand up to the politicians..
