I vote for Deve Gowda. At least he can sleep more soundly in Delhi (no work to do) and relieve the dirty meddling with local developments in Karnataka. All active politcians must be given a brief spell of presidency in rotation (say a year or so) so that they can relax and lose their power to manipulate politics in thier states. Next term will be of course for Karunanidhi followed by Arjun Singh jointly with V P Singh Jai Hind
I think Smt.Sonia Gandhiji choose Lady President. In India now most lady are well educated . So once again Sonia Gandhiji I request you to choose a Lady President In Indian History.
I think Next president shouldnt be a politician. Because he would be having the same kind of mentality which every politician in india is having.Im sorry, if this is hurting someone but this is the truth.I know still there are some ppl in politics who r very much true to india but if we will talk about the masses in politics then it will always be corrupt and selfish.So I feel a person with a fresh and intellectual mind should occupy the president's seat and as per the current scenario APJ Abdula kalam and narayan Murthy are the most prominent candidates.
If Somnath Chatterjee becomes President then the worst nightmares of Judges would come true. Somnath is the man who does not honour the courts. But when it comes for his party he takes shelter of Court. Further he is dead against the Judiciary's attempts to reconstruct the matters which politicians have worsened to the extremes. Take for example the reservation issue. The reservations in this country should had seized to exist right in 1957 but Congress (due to politics of vote) continued it. It was again Congress (Rajiv Gandhi PM) when the judgement of Supreme Court, in the case of Shahbano was overturned by srapping the Constitution. Such communal congress is again here with a communist Somnath as a candidate for President. This is same communist party which had opposed the Independence of India and had supported China in 1962 wars.

These are the results which have dawned upon us for voting the Congress. Further, the vague constitution (actually compilation of otherconstitutions) which was framed by our fore-leaders, is also responsible. In fact the constitution must be rewritten in light of Indian situations and Indian society.
No it should not be politician. Actually 99% politician are in politics for their personal needs only, they want money & mussel power. And also most of them are very corrupt. In my opinion president of India should be from defense, judiciary system, top rank IAS/Administrator etc with having no absurd remark on his whole career
After 1947, we got the scientist as Prez who was concerned with living condition of AAM ADMI of india. In 60 years of India's independence show me a single politician who has been such genuine.None ? Indian Politicians should be shown the way to PRISON for their misdeeds, corruption, and lack of loyalty to country......as
