we know ,how they behaved , whenever politicians became President of this country , Dr. Kalam just because he was not a politician , he made Rastrapathi Bhavan as peoples Bhavan . but politician did exactly opposite what Dr Kalam did . So it is better to elect a non politician to the highest post . Prtibha patil is a loyal congress person and a lady . thats all her eligibility . But that post needs more than this . at this juncture Bhaironsingh Shekawath is definetely a better choice . But left parties never think beyond politics .So they have undermining Vicepresident, and shamelessly lobbying around Sonia just for the sake of power .

ELECTION OF PRESIDENT OF INDIA
by Dwaraka Nath on Jun 26, 2007 09:02 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

THE PRESENT SITUATION IS CONFUSING BECAUSE THE POLITICAL PARTIES THINK IT IS THEIR PROROGATIVE TO SELECT AND POST A PRESIDENT OF THEIR CHOICE IGNORING PEOPLES VIEW AND OPINION. THE OPINION EXPRESSED BY LEFT FRONT LEADERS IS DISGUSTING AND SHOWS THAT THEY HAVE NO RESPECT FOR DEMOCRACYA AND PEOPLES VIEWS. A PUPPET PRESIDENT IS ALWAYS DANGEROUS FOR THE COUNTRY. SO IF WE THE PEOPLE THINK THAT INDIA SHOULD PROSPOUR AND TO CONTROL THESE UNCONTROLABLE POLITICIANS WE SHOULD HAVE A STRONG AND PRESIDENT RESPECTED BY ALL THE CITIZENS OF THIS COUNTRY.

THE SO CALLED INTELLECTUALS OF THIS COUNTRY WHAT THEY ARE DOING WHETHER THEIR WISDOM HAS DRIED OUT. PEOPLE SHOULD VOICE THEIR CONCERN AND FIGHT FOR CHANGE IN THE PROCESS OF ELECTION OF PRESIDENT. INSTEAD OF POLITICIANS ELECTING PRESIDENT, PEOPLE SHOULD ELECT THE PRESIDENT THEN ONLY HE WILL RESPECTING THE DEMOCRACY AND CONTROL THE POLITICIANS.

POLITICIANS HAVE FORGOTTEN THE MEANING OF CONCENSUS AND PLAYING A DANGEROUS GAME IN THE NAME OF DEMOCRACY.

PEOPLE SHOULD VOICE THEIR CONCERN. WE CANNOT DEPEND ONLY ON SUPREME COURT FOR JUSTICE. WE SHOULD HAVE A STRONG PRESIDENT TO UPHOLD CONSTITUTION.

IF YOU AGREE, PLEASE VOICE YOUR CONCERN.

RE:ELECTION OF PRESIDENT OF INDIA
by shantharam S on Jun 27, 2007 06:07 PM  Permalink
Pratibha patil is definetely not a better choice . Dr. Kalam made the people of the country to feel proud of their motherland . but how Pratibha patil can influence the countrymen is not yet clear. mearly loyalty to a particular party shound not be the criteria to elect to the highest post .

Next President
by Ashutosh Gupta on Jun 23, 2007 02:52 PM  Permalink

I sincerely feel that India should have %u201CThe President%u201D of non political background. Where almost every Indian voting for Shri Abdul Kalam for next term or Mr. Narayan Murti, the political parties are trying hard to placed their choice so that they may have advantage.

I am surprised to read that the congress is advising Mr. Kalam should not fight the election, even Manmohan Singh has advised him in Presidents office not fight election. Where we are heading with our corrupt politicians, 99 % can not qualify for even for an IV grade job & remaining 1 % have the legacy of their family background.

Gone are the days of Late Radhkrishanan there is no body in this dirty politics because the system does not allow a person to rise in politics with out mussel power or money power.

I appeal to All Indian to show our solidarity to our President Shri Abdual Kalam for his contribution to the nation.

Presedential Election
by jairaj srinivas on Jun 23, 2007 01:05 PM  Permalink

The way the politicians are trying to score in the Presential Election it is very clear that the ruling alliance is in no mood to have a concences candidate for the post. There is a clear cut deal between Congress and Left. The left wants their candidate for V-P post and they support Pratibha Patil for President.
Hence India will be a weekest Democracy in the world with week PM and President and being controlled by a foreign born lady.
There was a time when we use to say that I am proud to be Indian but now 98% of voters in the country say that we are ashamed to be indian. See the various polls for the post of President and the common man sentiments are 98% in favour of Dr. Kalam, 15% in favour of Bhairon Singh and ony 14.48% in favour if Pratibha Patil
