yes non politican can be a good for presdiential post i think the parties should see for narayan murthy of infosys, amithab beachan and Aishwarya are also good choice for presidential candidature
Democracy is for the people. When a mojority of our population wants Dr. Kalam, he should be given a chance. Otherwise, we really do not have a democracy. The role of politicians in riots in Punjab and now in Rajasthan clearly indicates how lust for money and power is uppermost in the minds of politicians. Do any of them think of the nation ?

That is because of Dr.Manmohan Singh.
India is purely dominated by Politicians. Even if Dr.APJ is a president he is just a president who will do ever thing based on the ruling part's recommendation.
If you think deeply, you can understand the fact that if a guy who is selected by a politicians will always do things for them only. He wont act independently. That is the case for Dr,APJ as well. If at all if he continued in Anna Univ he might have done some thing for the country.
It will be better if people has the right to elect a president ( direct election) of their choice. So there is a chance for people like APJ Abdul Kalam, T.N. Seshan, P.S. Sangma to contest and win, because they had already won the hearts of people.But alas!!!! We have the politicians to divide us and rule us. British were better!!!!!
He should be a man of great stature and dignity. He should be a man of vision and commitment to the people. He should not be swayed by petty politics or be a mere rubber stamp. Above all he should be acceptable to people all over the country. Above all he should understand what ails our political class and must have a strong remedy

I can suggest a few names: Mr Jyoti Basu Mr Harkrishen Singh Surjeet Mr Prakash Karat & Nrs Brinda Karat (jointly) Mr Sitaram Yechury Mr Deve Gowda Mr Karunanidhi Mr C.V.Achhutanandan Mr Mulayam Singh Yadav
Present Prez. should be given 2nd term, Mr. Sangma . Ms. Maneka Ghandhi are other good options. Politicians with big nonsense value Mr. Arjun singh, Narinder Modi, Sonia gandhi can be sidelined using this opportunity.

The main reason why the good for nothing communist party and other political parties wanted to bring the gutter politician as president just to release that convict in the parlimnet atatck case to be released and also use him as most important tool 'the rubber stamp'. The communists has to be derooted from the bas. their policy dont live let others dont live. at the age of his death this somnath want to be a president so that when he dies he will be given proper homage, the instritutions will be shut down wow greta thinking by the idiots called communists.

I would vote for DEVE GOWDA AND FAMILY. Last time when he was occupying the position of prime minister, One plane (Boeing 737)was not enough to carry his family and relatives. Rashtrapati Bhavan should be good enough for the Gowda Clan. They could become permanent members of Rashtrapati Bhavan.
Since Public has no role to play and only Polticians decides, therefore they collude to make a Poltician a President who can make - RajNath or Advani from BJP, or Mulayam Singh Yadav from Samajwadi, or Sonia from Congress.. The Prime Minsiter without any objection. Politicians of INDIA have purely decides on thier Selfish ends.....
