Is the caste system really abolished in India??? I dont think so...The recent reservation quota for the OBC's jus proved that...I think that the reservation should be based solely on the monetary status of the families as of today..as for the oppressed castes... who are the oppressed??? i dont see any person in India being in an oppressed condition..except for those living below the poverty line...i sincerely hope that the government will take notice of what is going on in the Country...otherwise the country will become a land of bloodshed due to caste induced riots...

quota system is to be abolished, its the HR to find the policy for the economically backward family to give benifit upto certain level. Otherwise we will have to face all these kind of problems in near future always.
We are probably the only country in the world where masses clash for getting branded as oppressed. They have so much strength to fight for their oppressed rights. There are lot of countries where certain groups were really oppressed, like some tribes in Africa were sold as slaves by the more dominent ones, attempts at ethinic cleansing took place even in the history of Europe, yet there are no reservations based on historical oppression. USA has accorded some benefit to African Americans based on the current state of their being and not any historical oppression. Politicians are not to blame, they are not leaders but are followers, all of them try to play by winning the popular sentiment, some of them succeed sometimes and fail sometimes. The middleclass which voted for BJP, Shiv Sena, TDP now is happily immersed in the bliss of economic development, they are barely able to manage time to spend the monthly salaries in the glittering shopping complexes of the crowded cities leave alone going the polling booth. The politicians are the first to read the signs and hence the new wave of reservations aimed at winning the people likely to vote. This new system will not create more education for the so called oppressed since all the top class institutes of higer education will no more be topclass...as the student composition will no longer be based on merit. However the government machinery will be full of the so called oppressed, the government jobs are ideal ..here one does not
as India is going to degenerate into a civil war based on the millions of caste each fighting to preserve its own dominance and looking at other caste as its enemy.

These are the real revolutionary leaders who have worked hard to bring social justice in India. They should be rightly facilitated for their service to the nation. Gujjar agitation showed that people are awakened and want justice. Like down south, north should also come out of the clutches (already loosing the grip) of anti social minded self claimed meritorious backless but notorious people. It is very important that all the dalits and BCs should get come to the power to spread the fruits of independence. These great visionaries tirelessly worked for this cause. Now happily most of the states are ruled by the oppressed class people. Though the anti social elements tried to capture the power dividing the people in the name of religion, the attempt has been successfully foiled by these great leaders. Because, they have to depend on these original inhabitance of India to sit in power at the center. For example, BJP simply do not remember now a days Ram temple movement! And Common civil law, they do not even talk about it. Nobody knows what are their policies now a days except enjoying air-conditioned life. Vajpayee now a days, goes to Kullu-manali for drinking and enjoying something! Adavanis goes to attened RSS meetings wearing funny trousers..ha..ha..ha..You can hear just snoring(not roaring) sound from the den of Thackreys in Mumbai. All these things happened just because of these great leaders. These sorts of agitations are not unexpected but welcome change, though ant

Problem here is, DMK boss shared power with BJP for 6 years at the center. And VP Singh was dependent on BJP too:)-
As far as Periyar is concerned, his statue was smashed recently by his own 'caste' people. Three out of 4 caught for smashing Periyar Statue belonged to his OWN caste:)-

"DMK boss shared power with BJP" "VP Singh was dependent on BJP" these are electoral politics. congress has a horrible record sleeping with the enemy too. bjp has been the underdog so far, thats why the compulsion to come to power. what abt congress, who has waylaid every rule in the book, or created rules themselves. indira gandhi has been horrendous with her regime. besides the entire caste mess has been created by the congress by the way of minority appeasement, more so in the name of "human face" now. right now they are mocking at the poor and "making faces" at them!
Believe me people, we have created a monster the first day when we had inducted the quota system in our constitution....It has started, students clashing, SC-ST clashing amongst themselves....it has started...the whell of Indias devlopment would slow down if we do not take a strong action now....
RE:what a monster have we created...or shall i say politicians created..

Why blaming politicians alone. Why not 'eminent'historians, sociologists like Romila Thapars and other marxists who made caste main Axis of Indian History, Sociology.
Prior to partition, Marxists circulated multi-nation theory for Hindus thus dividing Bengalis, Biharis, Tamils based on Language. Though they accepted Jinnah's proposal of "MUslims as a separate nation".
And then Hindus were divided alomng caste, used it in study, analysis everywhere.
Now, India is not only Divided along religion, Hindus are divided horizontally along caste lines as well.
Now the REAL FUN will begin. WITH THEDECLINE OF BJP AND CONGRESS - Marxists, Mayavatis will rise to rule India (if at all it exists). AND WE ARE ALSO SEEING A HUGE RISE OF MUSLIM ASSERTIVENESS.

"Who knows, we may even see Muslim Reservation." that'll be the last straw for communal people. also for rights in general. why have preferential groups in the first place ? if everyone wants a piece of the turf guaranteed without merit .... civil war is certain then.
