very good suggestion!! let us scrap all the police depts, cid, courts, free all the criminals, just bcos there are so many criminals roaming outside.
and lastly, why keep such a big army. give a free hand to everybody.
I have only suggestion, people supporting crime, directly or indirectly deserve more punishment then the criminals themselves...

Law prevails but what about others?
by Vivek on Aug 01, 2007 12:35 PM  Permalink

Law prevails in this country - thats what seems to be justice Kode`s message - which is right.
If sanju baba has done a crime he has to go in for a punishment. He`s had enough leniency till now,but thanks to our bollywood backed media, this verdict is being made to look very harsh.
Although it could have been 4 or 5 years but a punishment was a must if people are to ahve faith in law of the land.
Sanju has done a crime & no 2 views about it.
But now the others like Feroz khan & Annu Malik who have regularly been licking the As**s of Dawood & his henchmen & hosting parties for them need to be brought to the book. Then law would really prevail.

Sanjay Dutt
by cyrus confectioner on Aug 01, 2007 12:30 PM  Permalink

At this stage there is nothing we can offer Sanju, except remind him that our prayers and thoughts are with him. Kode simply did his job. Be strong. This ordeal will be over before long. Just wish the same Learned Judge would do the same to all the corrupt Politicians and others, who do as they please, and get away even with murder !! What we need is another 1000 Judges like Kode, who simply follow the law, irrespective of whom they are dealing with.

Commit a Crime, Do the Time
by Miharika on Aug 01, 2007 12:27 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Although everyone feels sorry for Sanjay Dutt, he must face the consequences of his actions just like everyone else. Should we not feel pity for Zaibunisa and Rubeena Memon, as also for those convicted under TADA for the same offences as Sanjay whereas he was convicted only u/Arms Act? Now it is high time that prosecution is launched against those named in the Justice Srikrishna report in the Mumbai riots.

My dear Miharika,
Please get ur facts right. Those ladies actually aided the conspirators in delivering arms or helped the conspirators to plant bombs. They knew abt the plans of the blast beforehand. Sanjay on the other hand acquired a weapon for his self-defence without knowing abt the 'bigger' plan. There is a difference! He did not kill anyone or help in kiling anyone. U cannot judge everyone by same rule... That he acquired the weapons at the same time and from the people connected with the blasts in unfortunate!!! For that he has been punished and has gone to jail for 1.5 years.

So many corrupt politicians who have either murdered people themselves or have commissioned murders of innocents are in power and we vote for them. What do we do abt such individuals who are more dangerous than Sanjay and should be hanged immediately? How many clean politicians do u know in this country?

We can just pray for Sanju and his family.

Dear Vaishali....i think u have got the facts wrong.AK 47,AK 56 r the weapons not used for self defence.if he had really wanted a rifle for self-defence he should have applied for the rifle license properly....the rifles he had are high profile and can only be bought for authorised army personnals....the only other source is the underworld.without having a good link with the underworld he cannot get those rifles...apart from that he had hand grenades and some magazines for the rifles....is he going to throw hand grenades for self defence....does this sounds sensible?dont just go behind the stardom or the popularity he has...he is connected with the underworld and this 6 years he got is juz an eyewash....people like him should be hanged in the public...more importantly before those grieving families....dont support a terrorist just because he is ur fav actor...even i luv him in movies....but thatz different from real life....donno wotz happening with some guys here.without even thinking the pain of hundreds of families they are submitting articles supporting sanjay....therez lot more thugs in bollywood who are linked with dawood.as u said v dont have any clean politicians...i agree on that.but our people keep on voting them when the election comes.

We feel proud of our Nation and her prestigious Courts.
by Ramakrishna Panicker on Aug 01, 2007 12:17 PM  Permalink

We feel proud of our Nation and her prestigious Courts.

And simultaneously feel displeasure that in a totality the news agent projected the case of Sanjay Dutt, dropping all other who got punishments. And the news agent should have to justify on this report.

At any rate this type of article is not enjoyable to a Nation like India. The writer should have to bear in mind the situation of those ill fated victims and the relatives who suffered when he prepared to write.

Ancient India gave weightage even to literate and illiterate while sentencing punishments. In Mahabhrat there is mention on that, we know that Brahmins are the creation of Brahma and is from face and it comes down of the body towards the feet of Brahma when comes the turn of Shudra, the down trodden ones. Like, literature Brahmins were sentenced with four times punishments than a downtrodden illiterate human%u2019s punishments for a same gravity of crime.

Any way Almighty is there to justify all our commitments.

Another Foolish Decision
by subhasis dasgupta on Aug 01, 2007 12:15 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Sanjay Dutt is punished. Why? because of 2 reasons: illegal arms possession and he was found in a dinner party with Dawood years ago. But so do many other actors at that time was found. We have seen videos in TV of Anu Malik singing song "Saabka Bhai" in Dawood's party. Is Sanjay's Charisma as a celebrity paying price? Why do we left Monica Bedi who was with Abu Salem for years??? Why we have left Kaskar whom we have seen many times with Dawood?? Sanjay was cleared by the same court of TADA being involved in blast. For possesion of arms he should have got a lesser punishment.

Justice for some denied for many
by suresh on Aug 01, 2007 12:12 PM  Permalink

Sanjy Dutt has been most unfortunate to land a verdict such as this. However one must congratulate Justice Kode for the consistency has maintained in convicting the accused involved in the blast. Politicians and Magfia share many things in common. Both strive to make a common citizens life miserable at every level. Dutt has obviously paid a price for some silly mistake and its disgusting to see Politicians and eminent corrupt personalities from the bollywood dish out nonsense. Its a common knowledge that Bollywood has inextricable links with the underworld and many people who voice opinion about sanjay dutt are more closer to mafia than sanjay dutt, be it politicians or personalities from the film world. At the end of the day Sanjay dutt will emerge as a stronger person and will win more fans over. After all he has gone through tremendous agony and the change is very visible. Lets pray for him
