harsh on sanju
by anip kumar on Jul 31, 2007 09:34 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

sanjay dutt today is not the same he was 14 yrs of age. at that time, may be he commit offense , he acted immature and behaved like spoilt man, but that was a different age. but in no way he is a terrorist and never did or had any intention to harm any countrymen and atrnish the image of india. but today he is a much changed and transformed person. he is such a gentleman and mature, a very good human being. his family is so good, sunil dutt saheb was a great human being himself. he and his family has given so much to society. by his acting he has entertained and brought cheers and smiles on millions of humans all over every friday. also he indulges in so much charity. so may be he did mistake. but his negative influnece is negligible in front of his grandness, greatness and positivity he is spreading today. he is not equal amongst equal but little more equal. THE PURPOSE OF PUNISHMENT SHOULD BE TO TRANSFORM A BAD HUMAN INTO A GOOD HUMAN, BUT AT THE MOMENT SANJAY DUTT IS ALREADY TRANSFROMED HUMAN, MUCH BETTER HUMAN BEING. The sentence is harsh and without any purpose. he cant be standed in front of others.he should have been punished within 5 yrs of that age. at the moment court has punished a wrong person, a person who dont exist, a great person and a nice human being has been punished who can give much more to the society. its high time judiciary think in a broader perspective.i just wish god grant sanjay and his family strength and courage to stand in this tough situation

I pray to God that I get a part in some movie about Gandhi or Nehru. Then I can also happily go out and drive a Scorpio over some slumdwellers, or buy myself a nice little handgun and go about shooting people waiting a a bus stand. I can rest assured then that the media and my fellow brainwashed fans will take up my case on TV, and I can get out on bail and out of jail ASAP...I can also break down claiming that I have two kids and a family to support, and I will also happily sell my story to be made as a full length teleserial to Ekta Kapoor.

God, are you listening? Please give me a chance too!!

He was a responsible person 14 years ago he was not not a kid, he knew very well whatever he was doing...its the failure of our judiciary department that it took 14 years to punish him.

I suppose those who sympathise with him should also have been killed in the blast in which sanjay was a part then only the real impact of terrorist like sanju would have been realised!!!

All you fools.......just seeing a very narrow minded version and saying jsutice is done. It would make sense if you punished him soon enough after the incident....not after 14 yrs.......i totally agree with anip kumar.

But you see its all a matter of protecting one's interests. If court had let him go free, then eveyrone would have said coz he is actor and celeb, he has been let of easily.

What about all the politicians who are corrupt...eating ppls money and so many others? What about the gangsters and so many tohers who actually kill ppl???

Poor fellow got caught in trap...he should have been sentenced ok for hte weapons, but not for so long.

Just because politicians and gangsters go scot free dure to lack of evidence supporting their crime, doesn't provide excuse to let go off a actor/celeb, in this case Sanjay Dutt, on whom the prosecution (that means the Govt. of India/People of India) has gathered unsurmountable evidence.

Delivering memorised dialogues and wise maxims on Gandhigiri doesn't guarantee that he is a transformed man. He has to serve his sentence because he did commit a crime that has been proved in a court of law.

Justice has been served even though that has taken 14 yrs. We as Indians should be proud, that in our country where the priviledged getaway with crimes using their financial and political influence, the Judiciary has upheld its integrity atleast in this case and has sent an accused to prison.

He should be treated equally like other TADA accused , 6 yrs itself is a relief for him , think of those people who have died in the bomb blast, Sanju helped them , you got to pay the price for your own deeds. It's God's law and not of any human law

today's decision of court on sanjay dutt
by jaggs welling on Jul 31, 2007 09:23 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Hon.Court has given a correct decision, this is a message for those celebrities & vip's who break the laws often & think that they have buy the law.
Also the other celebrities should be given the same treatment like sanjay dutt then only they will understand the law.
I am very happy with the decision given by Hon Judge Mr.Khode for all the accused people who founded guilty in 1993 bom blasts.
This is the first time we all have seen that a celebrity has been given such punishment.

Gujarath riot case and fake encounter were reopened. Any we indians should stop praying celebrities.

this news doesn't make me feel happy because sanjay dutt is being treated equally by law. on the contrary it makes me feel sad for the thousands of prisoners who have to face in human conditions in our jails.

no fan no bedsheet.. .. cm'on.. what has happened to indian jails... do they not even provide fan and bedsheet to inmates.

how pathetic... this is no way to rehabilitate people who have broken law. it made me feel ashamed.

sanjay dutt shud take this as golden oppurtunity....think abt it..he writes a diary abt his experiences /"struggles" in the jail...and then after 6yrs he's released and he publishes an autobiography..produces a film etc..which ,these dumbass ppl who r expressing their sympathy or praying for him..will pay to read or watch...let the families of the victims be damned..nobody famous died in those blasts anyway...

Pride and Prejudices
by suryakant agrawal on Jul 31, 2007 09:18 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Justice has been done. Irony of fate in Indian judicial system is, when a punishment is delivered the accused has different frame of mind then what he had at the time of committing crime. However one must face the justice. It is true the Dutt is different man today compared to what he was when the crime was committed.

Justice has been delayed by 14 yrs.
In such a case the justice delivered loses its 'punch' and edge.
Those who have been condemned to death will take another decade before their fate is sealed.
JUSTICE DELAYED IS JUSTICE DENIED.
INSTANT AND RETRIBUTIVE JUSTICE, JUST AS IN ISLAMIC COUNTRIES, IS THE ONLY WAY TO CURB CRIME. Super Cop KPS Gill has shown the way how to handle such crimes, but we are a civilized society and so remain troubled.

Even if he has chnaged, makes no difference to verdict. He has chnaged, but the deds in blast are not alive. He had full knowledge that weapons he had has potential of mass threat and were illelegal and that to delivered through Dawood . He as good citizen shoudl have reported to police then. He has chnaged now because he has to prove his innocence and behaviour for mercy plea. It is just an act in real life. My request to all readers of teh article to pray not for Sanjay but for bringing the main brains behind teh blast that made So beloved Sanjay to this fate, if you really belive he is good man !!!
