Just because corrupt politicians are going free does not mean that we have to let out Sanjay out. He committed crime. He deserves punishment for that.

If Sanjay is in Jail, it does not mean the film industry is going to suffer. Film industry in the world before his birth and will survivie for ages after his death.

Infact, he got special treatment. The judge gave him bail and allowed him to act in movies. He should be grateful to the judge for being considerate though Sanjay does not deserve that.

Mr Yogi,

Sanjay Dutt deserved what he got.

Dawood's brother sent arms (guns, hand grenades) to Sanjay Dutt. Later he returned most and kept one AK56. Those guns and grenades were used in bomb blast by those terrorists.

Thats the charge against Sanjay Dutt and it has been proved. He is very lucky that he was not convicted in the conspiracy for the bombblast. He would have got lot more in that case.

Sanjay Dutt is no saint...
He has been friends with D gang all along.
Check this article

Particularly check the way he asked for some
stuff from Chhota Shakeel. That shows how he is
friends with the mafia.

You are right to the extent that you feel the judiciary should be competant to absolve a person of repute or eminence for anything they could have committed as crime as per the law. But, to this element of overruling the law book needs to be framed in the law itself by way of specific procedure to be adopted to have the room for general amnesty/pardon based on public campaign and submission of supportive documents to a competant leagl authority who can recommend either for withdrawal of charges or to punish with mild sentence! Since such a built in procedure as above is not there in the law book (that too definitely not there for a TADA Special court appointed exclusively for the Mumbai bomb blasts of 1993),to peruse a convict's charges based on his social status and standing! Here, the Supreme Court steps in to restore the judgement to a better level in line with the public perceptions! Hope, dear SANJU gets some less jail term or let out as free man accepting his earlier 16 months in Jail is fair enough for him to learn the lessons for what he did!

You idiot, talk some sense.

Just because Sanjay dutt is a star, celebrity and bollywood suffer loss - he should be freed.

In USA recently one top hollywood actress served 45 days in prison just for driving car without driving license. CAN THIS HAPPEN IN INDIA ?

Wake up and look things in the perspective of national interest.

This should be an eye opener for all high class who think they are above law.

Lodged in the same row as Dutt is notorious gangster Abu Salem [Images]. He was the man who delivered the AK-56 rifle at the actor's residence at the behest of underworld don Dawood Ibrahim's brother Anees Ebrahim.

Be friends in the jail too!

Justice Restored
by mithun sugur on Aug 01, 2007 12:06 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

In January 2007, a man called Abhimanyu Altekar filed an Intervener's Application, which opposed Sanjay Dutt's release in the 1993 bombings case.[8] Altekar had been acquitted by a sessions court, 16 years after he was arrested in a false case of planting a bomb outside the house of an Marathi daily editor in 1990. In his application, Altekar stated that one of the grounds of Dutt's application for seeking time to surrender was that he was the only earning member of the family. However, he was on bail for more than 12 years and had earned enough to make provisions for his family in case of a jail sentence. Altekar also argued that Dutt was mature enough at the time of buying illegal weapons, and did not deserve a reduced jail term. Though the intervener application filed by Altekar was rejected by the court, it raised doubt against of prosecution, the State Government of Maharashtra and the Indian Judiciary.

After all this Sanjay Dutt was sentenced to 6 years rigorous imprisonment on 31 July 2007

I think this is the right justice.. I am not against Him.. But Truth Privals Even if the person convicted is a Notable Person.

This case should serve as Role Model in making future decisions

Sanjy Dutt made a Mistake , but is no Criminal or threat to Society Today.

Commnunity service and fines should have been enough.

The bright side is that the Indian Judiciary system has shown that it it is not partial.

Life of 2000 dead could have been saved if he had informed police of conspiracy as responsible citizen.
His enthusiasm as goon of Dawood Ebrahim prompted moral support to others 93 to do this heinous act.
He is dangerous of all,to do it and get away and enjoy life, not even Dawood can do it.
release all 93 if he is released.
all have families to support, all have realised their mistakes,
why have courts and make mockery .....

No , one asks for AK-57? Also who has friends who can supply AK? Only criminals have such friends.Being their associate, knowing of conspiracy, he knew Hindus will be killed and backlash of it and got AK 57 to kill more Hindus? He is no COW.

Moreover, have u have the complete materials when you give your judgement whether Sanjay should be proscuted under aram act or some other act .

Sanjay should trade some thing for weekly probation.
by Rajendra on Jul 31, 2007 11:48 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I think sanjay should accept that law is same for every one,he violated the law of the land by having arms illeagally and he is bound to be given the punishment.

But it is very piognant that in Indian jails there are no fans for inmates. This is in violation of human rights for 21st century.

I think sanjay should offer to work in the week days and stay in sunday and saturday in prison. He should offer to donate 90% of his earnings for 6 years, for the betterment of the families of those who died in the 93 blasts.

As he is no threat to the society , as he was probably never was this shold be considered by the home ministry of Maharastra, there by putting a presedent.

All those people who are sympathatic to those unfortunate people in the prisions shold donate money to jails to buy fans not only for people like sanjay but for all prisoners.

This shold be seriously considered because this year many prisioners in Thihar jail died of sunstroke.

He had earned a lot but he donated no money to 257 victims of bomb blast, he well knew and as responsible citizen could have averted by informing police.
He is criminal and live in India to make money.
society has given him respect, love fame and money but he only gave them hate and death.
We all know what criminals do on probation!!make more money and more conspiracies.

the reason there are no fans in jail cells is because prisoners could hang themselves easily , or an inmate could kill another and hang him from the fan to make it look like suicide

The verdict today to SD was for Bombay blasts not arms act.He knew his muslim friends had got arms and were on revengeful conspiracy and make it look like Gujrat riots in Bombay. There was no riotings and soon with identification a vehicle used for blast belonging to memon family and their disappearance let to arrests and opening of conspiracy. Sanjay Dutt got no time to use AK 56 to kill hindus but the arrest of his friends forced him to destroy this rifle.
He may be actor but we are audience.
Now he is acting again but its real drama, its real movie, lets see how he acts, how he eats, how his political friends get him out but judiciary gave verdict as it gives in movies.
Bad characters and their political stooges will come out soon and the nation will watch real movie. But he will not get paid unless he sells his story or makes a movie of it
