Sanjay & Jail Life
by coimbatoreflow controls on Aug 01, 2007 07:34 AM  Permalink

We the Indians and the so called Protectors of Public THE PRESS AND MEDIA have forgotten one thing.
In INDIA I am very confident, that atleast Major Majority of Politicians, irrespective of their Party affiliation, have and are committing Economical, criminal and all kinds of Offence- at times they collude with Terrorists also. But not even a single- even at lower level Politicians have got Punished. Does it mean they are Honest, Patriot. This eyes everybodys eyebrow regarding the working of our Law inforcing authorities and Judiciary . I strongly believe that the Lawers in India are lacking will to raise their voice . Least said is better regarding our bearaucrats.

Punishment too harsh
by Jyoti Bhat on Aug 01, 2007 07:24 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

The punishment meted out to Sunjay Dutt is really harsh. On one side, the Judge has held that he is not a terrorist. If he is not a terrorist, then, why is he being punished so harshly under the Arms Act? Perhaps, the Judge is trying to show that he is being fair and is trying to evade the backlash from other accused whom he has held punished. If he is trying that, then, he has really gone out of his way to show fairness. An offence under the Arms Act is a serious offence. However, given the circumstances of this case, Dutt could have been let off under the Probationer's Act.

Be it Sanju Baba or neone else i guess the punishment is right.U tell me one thing would u be so worried if the same judgement was meeted out to the common man.I guess NO.he may not have been pronounced as a terrorist but given the facts and irregardless of whatever changes he has brought in himself now he did meet the underworld people and did buy arms from them.this in itself is equivalent to being a terrorist.

Why It is told he has been not given comfort ( has he done some thing great to Provide comfort )
by sam dell on Aug 01, 2007 07:22 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Jail is not a star hotel to provide comfort for him. It is the place where he has to undergo the punishment for the criminal act which he has done. rediff stop putting all such nonsense things on your headlines , start concentrating on some thing good

Poor
by jackson on Aug 01, 2007 07:00 AM  Permalink

40% of rural indians do not have access to fan, bedsheet, toilets anyway. They are living in abject poverty and poor sanitary condition that is ignored by all governments. Who is Dutt ? After all a criminal. And this is only for 6 years and coming out to enjoy all comforts, media publicity, bollywood and everything. And during his time in jail, his family is not going to suffer financially. So what big deal about it.

Justified but less
by Mukund on Aug 01, 2007 06:57 AM  Permalink

The most surprising is Dasmunshi I&B minister is now showing sympthy and shown interest to save Sanjay in Apex court. What non sense congress party is doing? Whatever Sanjay has done he has got just 10% nominal punishment. We should not make a big issue out of that.

Sanjay dutt will be a free man. Remember, after appealing in supreme court, he can appeal to president.. and we all know how the character of our president is? Pratibha Patil.. she is the biggest traitor in this world. Once her case goes to her, prya dutt will force sonia from here and Pratibha being a puppet of sonia, will rule the favor in the hand of sanjay dutt. just see how this dram moves forward.

Do you know exactly what the hell these people have done earlier? Keeping a deadly weapon or transfering it to someothers what for? What for? Just say sorry or feeling regrets are not enough, he knew well what he had done to the entire nation. How many innocent people have been killed, threatened and lost their peacefulness. These activities should be stopped forever and thats what we all needed at this moment. Right justice should be given to everybody regardless his name and fame.

Sanjay and Court judgement
by Danendra Jain on Aug 01, 2007 06:00 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Court yesterday announced punishment for Mr. Sanjay Dutt and he has been sent to jail for six years on the charges of keeping arms in his home in violation of arms act.
Blast occurred in 1993 and more than 15 years have passed. Now after prolonged hearing and evidences it has been concluded that he is guilt. This long period of 15 years is far more torturous than even jail for six years. It is not therefore justice delivered by the respected court but I will say it is injustice delivered.

Firstly if criminal is allowed to move freely for 15 years he can damage the evidences, witnesses and can even cause much bigger damages if he so likes in revenge of likely punishment. On the contrary if the accused person proved to be innocent and it is found that for last 15 years he has been unnecessarily facing mental agony and physical difficulties in attending courts and bearing with loss of dignity in the society, the repercussions are more harmful for civilized society.

As a matter of fact it is never criminals who are unhappy with delay in court proceedings and pronouncement of judgment but only gentleman, innocent and simple persons who are unhappy and who have to suffer a lot due to such inordinate delay.

Actual Criminals and his henchmen manage the delay by dint of his money and muscle power as also high profile pressure and lead a peaceful life. He is not at all afraid of any punishment. Had he been afraid of punishment he could not have opted for wrong path of crime.
