I have not seen Advani killing innocents! I have only seen him motivating people to demolish some old building. He made this as an open political ideology. Can Sanjay Dutt openly say that he is responsible for the killings of 250 as his political ideology?

Free riders????????
by on Jul 31, 2007 03:24 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Why is it that we need celebrities as riders onto whose back we can latch to show everyone what efficient systems exist in India. No doubt the Indian judiciary is doing a marvelous job these days, and Judge Kode knows far better than myself. However, I feel sad for Sanjay Dutt, especially when people with hard core criminal backgrounds are walking free around us, or sometimes even representing 'We the people of India' in the political systems.

It is very easy to say 'he deserved it, or he is reaping what he sowed' but those who say this, can they really vouch for themselves. Can they say that are the best citizens who abide with each and every law stated. Don't they cheat the govt. by hiding their incomes so as to pay less taxes, don't they cheat their employers by using the phones for personal use, don't they cheat by bribing officers whether it is for flouting the traffic rules or building norms etc.

Sanjay Dutt has not done so heinous a crime that people should hate him to the extent of wanting maximum punishment that can be meted out. He did something wrong and got punishment for that through the Law. But just because he is a very well known actor, and he should be made a shining example to those who dare to mess with the law of the country, is not correct. What right do you have to make him a shining example. Why not go after the terrorists, the goons, and the underworld people to set such examples?

I fully agree with the reasoning of Free Riders. SD is not a terrorist in any sense. He made a mistake by associating with underworld elements and he is made to pay a price for it. Let this be a shining example to all, who keeps bad company and makes an error in their judgement. If you are unfirunate to get caught then the law will take it course in major cases of public interest. Although I feel sorry for SD but I am glad that to see that 'No One' is above the law in major cases of public interest in India as they about Laws & Order in India & China. In China, there are no laws but there is some order. In India, there are laws but no order.

A case of selective justice????
by on Jul 31, 2007 03:24 PM  Permalink

Everyone has conveniently turned a blind eye towards the real perperators of the Bombay riots. The politicians & police officials who openly engineered, incited & supported the killings of so many innocent people. While small fries are being penalised the real culprits r roaming scot-free.Does anybody knows whats happening about the Srikrishnna commission report regarding the Bombay riots???? Why aren't the persons named in the report r being brought to justice??? Or is it another case of selective justice????

Hopeless and very rigid judgement . Many of the big politicians and celebraties do crime and they do not get jail because they use power
to affect the judgement . sanjy never did so in his life . He has shown big improvement in his character and behaviour after getting bail .
He should have been penalized only . He has
never been a professional criminal .

Law for everybody
by atul g bhalerao on Jul 31, 2007 03:23 PM  Permalink

Good decision. But why this legal system is not effective in Delhi, UP, Bihar , Northern India, where Political Leaders, their relatives, do all types of illigal activities, such as Rape, Murders, Extortion, Bribes without any fear of law & order. Law should be equal to all
