Good Judgement
by Ranjith M on Jul 31, 2007 03:27 PM  Permalink

If Sanjay Dutt was let for free or with a lesser punishment, Many of us will feel sorry for Indian Laws which is always made as a joke by indian media.. This verdict is a good sign for law abiding citizens may be a good number of judges in india need to learn from Mr Pramod Dattaram Kode.. He is a true indian.

Good verdict. Those mentioned in the Srikrishna commission report should also be brought to justice including Bal Thakarey. Then we can say that the entire episode of mumbai riots and blasts have been handled fair by the judicaiary.

You are absolutely right.

These rascals who mascarade as our so called political 'leaders' are the ones who have being playing games -- as none other than Dilip Kumar and Saira Banu have said -- "behuda siasat" games, with the gullible public and young rambo-like Dutt was swayed swept away by this tide of their tirade.

The real perpetrators of the mayhem and massacre are out-of-reach of the supposed-to-be 'long arm of the law' while the Kodes-Of-Justce know full-well that Dutt (who felt threatened) decided to -- like in his films -- place the protection of himself and his family in his own hands.

Filmy scene & reality
by C D Tamhankar on Jul 31, 2007 03:26 PM  Permalink

Javed & Akhtar have many sensational scripts.

Javed.... you have spoiled couple of generations.
Many crimes are shown in films. Reasons are many. Self defence, parente's defence, kid's defence etc.

But in reality, you can not get away with such filmy defences.
Sanjay is a victim of bad company & such filmy scripts.

Long Live Indian democracy / Justice
by Ashok rathore on Jul 31, 2007 03:26 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

The judgement shows the strength of Indian democracy and power of judscial system. The 6 years is may be long period for Sanju Baba. But he should remember the secenes of 1993 Bombay blasts which turn innocent killings. He should give thanks to god who has save him from Death.

The punishment should have been harsher.
It is a lesson to all 'bigde nawaab' who in vanity of their high links take law for granted. Hope Supreme court doesnt mild the ruling.

Don't be Stupid Chinnu Raju,

He may have been a 'bigda nawaab' as all pampared kids are wont to be.

Today I see hordes of gangs roaming UP, Bihar, Punjab, Rajastan and even Mumbai carrying (I am sure) unlicensed weapons but no Khodes are around to pronounce them as "eminently dangerous acts", unlike the weapons possessed by Dutt.

The crux of the matter is that sometimes judges do not look beyond the facts put under their noses.

Dutt was a 'Sunju Baba of only 36 years, then, when he was released for jail after fourteen or sixteen months.

Now sixteen years later he is a really changed man who has displayed that he IS and HAS reformed, through his very exemplary behaviour.

The judge has already said he is not a terrorist, and has exempted him from TADA.

Therefore this judgement today is harsh, cruel and severe. It will snatch away Dutt's best working years ... years when he could have served society much more by being "out" rather than "in".

Look at that again! This verdict does seem rather rough and unfair since the possession of weapons are NOT LINKED to the bombings that took place but rather to the imperitive for protection that was the need-of-the-hour once the Hindu-Muslim Riots were triggered off by the Maha Aarts that followed.

It is those rascals who masquerade as our so-called political 'leaders' who have being playing games with us -- as none other than Dilip Kumar and Saira Banu have said -- "behuda siasat" games, with us ...

Justice will only be done and seem to have been done when Kode will have tried and sentanced Dawood Ibrahim and Tiger Memon.

Sentence of Sanjay Dutt
by Sheetal Shah on Jul 31, 2007 03:26 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Good to know that justice still prevails and the celebrity status of a person doesnot affect the sentence for a crime that was clearly cruel and inhuman.

Sunil dutt was a very tall figure in public.
As an MP, govt was capable enough to protect him.
Public, Congress party would have taken care of him. And his voters would have certainly protected him.
( During bad period he had visited Punjab without having a scratch )
Sanju procured weapons to have some status.
Protecting father / family are the diloges written by Javed & Akhtar
He is punished for procuring arms & not for TADA.
Some other country he would have been punished as terrorist as he received arms from terrorists

no what he did was just keep some weapons in his safe keeping for use by terrorist. That is not a terrorist job. BTW do you think Osama Bin Laden and Musraff are also not involved in any terrorist activities they never killed anyone directly in India by planting RDX etc. (remember when mush killed he was fighting for his country)
