Sunjay Dutt's sentence
by Jay Subramanyam on Jul 31, 2007 03:41 PM  Permalink

Once a judgement is pronounced by the Hon'ble Court, we can only deliberate upon its repercussions and not on its fairness or unfairness. But yes, in the light of the gravity of offence, Sunjay Dutt had it coming, I think, he was quite resigned to some form of punishment. Six years could be a hard grind but the impartiality of judgement should be an eye-opener to those who take the judiciary for granted, so often and with such impunity.

I am happy...
by dhananjay botwe on Jul 31, 2007 03:40 PM  Permalink

No one is above law, Long live Indian Judiciary.. I would say some more hardship should have been shownd by honourable Judge. law is equal to all. But here, I feel hi-profile people should be hard punished to make them roll models for others not to dare for such type of crimes..
Thanks Judiciary.

Government Employee Done Good Job

Its very good news. Don%u2019t support Sanjay Dutt by watching his movies. Ask to them who lost their nearest relatives in bomb blast. Don%u2019t support Sujay Dutt because he is a good actor, be happy for them who lost everything in bomb blast. The person who do action against BHARAT MATA (INDIA) is a terrorist, don%u2019t support terrorist, other wise your mother, sister, father, daughter, son could be the next bomb blast victim. Fight against terrorist (JIHADI). Judge Pramod Kode has done good work.

Jai Hind

and still Maharastrian says they are Real Hindus they are against terrorism
Terrorism in all case is bad whether done by celebrity or anyone else

Law shoul be impartial
by dhruba goswami on Jul 31, 2007 03:40 PM  Permalink

The verdict has once again shown that Law discrimates no one. It may sound harsh, but as the offence was committed, Sanjay Dutt deserved that punishment.

He was no spring chicken when he committed that. There cannot be leniency after the crime is committed & one shows remorse.

With most high profile offenders getting away with murder, this verdict comes at the right time, & hopefully will reinforce the faith of the masses in the Law of the land.

Tough luck Sanju Baba, but bear it with the dignity & strenth of a true Munna Bhai.

RE:Poor Sanjay's surname is `dutt' and not `khan'
by Sebastian Joseph on Jul 31, 2007 03:49 PM  Permalink
This is too much RSStriotism (patriotism. Can you pl. tell me how mny other "Tilakans" were punished and how many Khan's were acquitted in Mubai blast case? As fas as I know Sanjay is the only "Tilakian" who was punished and rest are all "khans" .

Sorry Joyee,
I don't agree with you!! I am a Maharashtrian and I have never supported Pratibha Patil. Had it been a Presidential Democracy (where People direcly elect the President), I am quite sure that she would have received the least votes from Maharashtra. It's a shame that Pratibha Patil gets elected as the President of India and a great man like Kalam does not get one term extension.. What a pity.. Maharashtra still breeds and supports intellectuals (not like Bihar where intllectuals have already fled away) and a true Maharashtrian is first an Indian and nobody can fool him with regionalism..

This Judgement is wrong and shame
by kris on Jul 31, 2007 03:39 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

This judgement is wrong and I feel affended to hear that they have closed the case.

How can Mumbai blast case gets closed with out punishing the master mind Dawood. it's shame that we can not catch the pig like Dawood but to punish the rats like Sanjay dutt.

Have we really punished the guilty?

Indian judiciery is rotten. Judges are heavily bribed.
