The fact of the matter is that there are much much BIGGER criminals still at large who are bent upon destroying the very moral fabric of the society by indulging in ghastly criminal acts. Sanjay Dutt is a pea of the pod. I really think that the guy have gone through a lot as it is.. In my opinion he has been made to suffer in the past ten years and the judge could have made a difference by asking him to make a difference in the society by welfare work, or donations or steps on eliminating poverty and so on. Given his star appeal, the nation could have benefitted from his social activities, instead of sending him to jail for 10 years.
But having said that, I do not think that every one with star appeal should be pardoned. No nat at all. But in sanjay's case, I think the actor have gone through his moments and have been made to suffer at the hands of court.

i disagrree, only b'coz bigger criminals are at large doesn't mean the smaller are left unpunished. I think you remember his emotional moments on the shows like Simi Garewal & alikes... Have you seen Dutt talking to media in 1996 after his release ?... he was a different man then....he was young, son of a politician.... while commiting the crime he knew what he was doing was anti law, & he was sure of CHALTA HAI, MANAGE KAR LENGE attitude. The law has punished him for his act in 1993, which is fair. ..frankly do we have any reason to distrust the judiciary... thats the only pillar of our democracy which is strong and to a large extent unpolluted (the top level judicry). I agree with you that other biggies should be hanged...but at the moment lets be happy that the right signal has been sent to the criminals through the whole 1993 blast case judgement. anand

I well appreciate and admire TADA Judge Mr Kode for the judgement in case of Sanjay Dutt as well as those terrorists who were given capital punishment for their role in the terrorist act.
The unbiased judgement meted out to the criminals involved in terrorist act can hopefully act as a deterrent against indulging in criminal / terrosist act in the country.
We need more KODEs in the country to protect and reinstate the trust and confidence in the Indian Judiciary.

if u wanna punish someone punish at the right time not after 10 12 years,a man who is doing good to industry has to be looked after, why there are no cases are against the ministers who has spoiled the country, this is totally wrong decision

I don't think so. If someone has done something wrong, how does it matter if he got imprisonment after 12 days or 12 years ? On the contrary, he should be thankful thta he got the most fair trial.
the actor and public figure is always having clean chit in the minds of people, there are many hardcore criminals elements are ruling our country in the mask of MPs,MLAs and Officers. it is very shameful to us to proclim larget democratic nation, it is time to eliminate them in a phased mannger for safety, security and social fabric of our nation.

Why bring other criminals to compare with Sanjay Dutt? If some one has committed crime, he ought to be punished. Period. Where does the comparison come in picture ? Just because a 100 murderers run free for lack of proof does not mean that you should not jail a rapist.

I have never seen person sadistic like you. Sanjay Dutt has been vouched by so many eminent personality and should be considered for pardon.
Anyhow, I am sure Supreme court will grant relief to him based on his conduct. Have you fotgotten his munna bhai has moved whole India for non-voilence protest.
He should get relief from Supreme Court. I am not saying that Judge has done wrong in decision but taking this as special case he should have been released.
My full moral support to Sanjay Dutt. I wish I could have helped in any way.
