Should be a Precedent for all the cases of Big Personality
by New Born on Jul 31, 2007 06:48 PM  Permalink

THe decision of the Court is highly appriciated and the same should be taken as precedent for all the cases kept in abynce against big magnets. There should not be any differance between big and small people. The country has to go a long way with honesty and trust.

Sanjay Dutt....an example?
by abdul khan on Jul 31, 2007 06:48 PM  Permalink

I am not against the decision but expect that judiary work in the same way in other cases as well, there are many people specially politicians who keeps sofistacated arms and are link with underworlds...but why our system is fail to catch them and put them to justice. It's misfortunate that just to set an example today Munnabhai is sent to jail. I honestly did not like this example. Dawoods brothers who have been extradited from Dubai are now raoming free, we have no. of examples where crimnals are enjoying free life....so cannot Munnabhai....i am sure if he gets free it will set a better example than the current one.

well......... (speechless)
by on Jul 31, 2007 06:47 PM  Permalink

well..... Punishment is something which is given to reform a person. The More serious the crime is, the more serious is the punishment. Please refer to what is said in any religion.. repenting and realizing ones fault itself is a wash for ones crime. In the instant case sanju had already realized his mistake, he is feeling very sad for his act. Not to forget, he has been always honorable to the court, law of the land and the police and cbi investigations. he did not run away the scene. he is a complete changed man. Not only did he spend 16 months in jail already, he has been going through hell all these years just worrying about the future verdict of the case. This worring and mental stress itself is a serious punishment. After being in trial for so many years, he will never ever even dream of ever looking at any weapon in future. this is clearly indicated in his latest movie of Gandhigiri and which movie is also liked by all the people in the country. So, what more punishment is left for him? There is some evidence gathered aginst him to proove something. But so much punishment for such a small mistake ..... is a question left to the judiciary.

best that can happen
by Navneet on Jul 31, 2007 06:46 PM  Permalink

I think sanjay understood the degree of offence he committed. He should be punished. No doubt. But he is a changed man now. the courts should give him a second chance. Maximum punishment should be 3 years. Out of which he spent 18 months. Another 12 months can be deducted for his good deeds and good behaviour after the incedent. He can spent another 6 months in jail and come out clean.

May god bless him.

who are we to say this is right or wrong decison?
by Tapan Mehta on Jul 31, 2007 06:44 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

ask the parents whose son or daughters got killed in that blast, ask those wife/husbands whose husband/wife got killed in that blast, ask those children whose parents got killed in that blast, those brothers and those sisters. i think they all will say that 6 years in nothing. i like sanjay dutt very much but i think if we ask those people they will rather say he should be sentenced to death. but i like him as actor but i m not sure about him as human being so i would say have faith in our judicial system and god. he is paying for all those lives..his wife died..his daughter is away from him....he has no one in his life to whom he can actually say about his feelings...god bless him...

But it is not proved that Sanjay helped these buggers to carry out the attack. Court admitted that Snajay is not a terrorist.

Just because you cant catch Dawood and Tiger Memon. You will punish all others who may be innocent?

probably you are right..i really feel for him..as i said i like him very much...and if he is innocent than definately this is wrong...but keeping our feelings aside..lets put it this way..he is famous, wealthy and all the possible contacts and he found with weapons and he did accepted being in that meeting with dawood...and he asked court to be good to him..so basically he is not that innocent and being instrumental for the death of so many people i think 6 years would be nothing if we see from the eyes of realtives whose loved ones were killed

What about son or daughter got killed in the riot in mumbai, gujurat etc? All the culprits must be hanged whether it is Munabhai/Thakre/Narendra Modi/Dawood.

Todays judgement from Justice Kode is a right
but there are so many criminals are there like dawood and is gang but they are escaping from our indian law and police from 14 years.
by this bad message is going to indians that big criminals are always safe and easy. Its very very bad to our LAW.

Mr Nagraj,

Biggies know how to protect themselves. Only the naive get caught.

Those who get caught for drug trafficking in Malaysia, Singapore etc are the runners rewarded with nothing compared to the masterminds who operate from safe sanctuaries. Many are hanged trafficking 15 gms of herion. In fact, Myanmar govt and many others are also involved in all these activities, though they are courted by many.

Life is indeed not at all fair to many.
