Dear friend, many people suffered due to bombay blasts 1993 butt do you think it all about that. Remember sanjay dutt is accused of keeping arms illegally ( i.e. without license) and then due to fear of law and reputation he tried to destroy them. Is had been admitted in the court also the reason has been given it was all to safe guard his family from the threats he was receiving from some politicians and other persons due to babri masjid case. See that side of case and think if u been there in same situation(where police refuses to safe guard your father and sisters) what u would have did?
Although i do not mean to say he is innocent but for sure he had not committed a big crime that he has punished for. He had already passed an 16 months long time in jail and did not ever tried to escape from law.
Do remeber laws and punishments are for rules and improvement. If a person accepts his crime and is sorry for that ( for what he had a strong reason) he should be considered with a soft corner.

I think that would show that Indian Law can be respected and its systems trusted. Implement Justice Srikrishna Commission.

Show me one politician who has been in jail. And even if one does go in the lock-up he wins elections.
Show me one politician who has not complained of chest pains when being arrested.
And then let's hang Sanjay Dutt.

P.S.: I am not for once justifying what Sanjay did. Nor am I against the court order. But seriously, it's about time the Court started bringing politicians to the book.
I am not against the decision but expect that judiary work in the same way in other cases as well, there are many people specially politicians who keeps sofistacated arms and are link with underworlds...but why our system is fail to catch them and put them to justice. It's misfortunate that just to set an example today Munnabhai is sent to jail. I honestly did not like this example. Dawoods brothers who have been extradited from Dubai are now raoming free, we have no. of examples where crimnals are enjoying free life....so cannot Munnabhai....i am sure if he gets free it will set a better example than the current one.

Yes Sanjay had done a terrible blunder 14 yrs ago and was caught.There are thousands of criminals/politicians displaying their weapons arrogantly in the public who go scotfree. It is time now for the system to take proactive action on these anti social elements too. One thing for sure Sanjay is not a terrorist or anti Indian. I do agree that he has to be punished as per the Indian Penal Code
