The verdict is too harsh.The judge could have given him 2 yrs max for the type of crime he commited.Who from the film industry does not have contacts with the D group??and they have to keep contacts as most of the films are financed by them.Why not arrange to catch the main culprit instead of punishing these innocents.Its a very harsh judgement.May be the judge is in pressure from a particular group to give such judgement.

Perhaps you don't know about IPC and CrPC. This si least punishment what he deservs. I hope CBI will do the job without fear and favour and reappel in supreme court to also punish under criminal conspiracy.

He was breaking a law by possesing an AK56 which carries a minimum sentencing of 5yrs.He got a minimum of one yr for possesing arms without licence and a minimum of five yrs for carry restricted weapon like an AK 56,in total six years.He got minimum sentencing on each section under which ,he was convicted.

According IPC sentences are carried parllel. under section 25B he dererves for 5 years

not to mention at least 100 odd mumbai policemen who were lynched to death by muslim mobs some of them disappeared and their bodies never were found.
Well, it does create a feeling of shock considering that Sanjay Dutt was given such a verdict. But to be fair, the judge Mr. Khode should be appreciated for not probably reeling under pressure from various corners.
The Bollywood stars should learn a lesson from this verdict that they are not above law.
Yes, considering that the verdict has come after 13 years, the tenure of imprisonment could have been reduced.
