I think that Sanjay Dutt not getting jail sentence would have meant injustice to the innocent people who died in Bomb Blast and their family members. Just becoz he is a favourite actor that does not mean his life is more valuable then the life of common man..I think accused shud be treated the same way as any other person..I think this judgement against a famous person shud be used as a beggining to put behind bars people like Salman Khan,Sanjeev Nanda (who is trying to escape in the hit and run case of BMW)...We as human beings shud never forget that those people who lost their lives were not related to us but still they were precious to their family like we are to us...

madam, Hindus are also silent about misdeeds of Muslims like link to Terrorisim, not obeying indian constitution, crime against women & population flood.
If you were in the same situation (ie: sectarian violence happening right next door and a family to protect), wouldn't you acquire a weapon legally or illegally?
We all know how good the law enforcement in India is and how good acquiring anything 'legally' in India is?
I have the greatest respect for Mr. Kode, he is an honest judge, rarity in India BUT I have to disagree with him on this. Given the circumstances, Sanjay is not guilty.

What license???? Don't write what comes to your mind! Govt. of India has declared that AK-47 is an illegal weapon. No country gives licenses for hand-grandes and most importantly, no one needs an arsenal of bombs and machineguns to protect their families! You kidding me??

Sanjay Dutt stored 25 Hand granades, one AK-47 and a pistol. He had procured it from Anees Ibrahim brother of Dawood Ibrahim. He was also alleged to have links with underworld. Even Prime Minister does not require arsenal of 25 hand granades for security. Former PC of Mumbai A S Samra said he had the knowledge of conspiracy. As a son of a responsible MP he could have informed Police so the lives of hundreds could have been saved. Judge has already shown leniency by not slapping TADA so that he can apply to supreme court. Would any other person with such backgroung and crime have escaped from TADA
I cannot say whether the sentence is harsh or not,but certainly it will be a lesson to all the youth and young children of our country who look upon the Film Industry's Heroes as their idols. Now they will think twice before whether filmy Heroes are not exactly real life Heroes.Children of Elite & affluent families shall also restrict the use of their money power.I really hail the judiciary system of India and hope it should reach every nook and corner of India.
Just shut up... You are one of those Hindus who barely ever visits a temple or barely knows anything about hinduisim. But,when it comes to repudiate others religion, you people are always go over zealous. Go,visit some site about our great Hindu religion.I sure there are lots of them out there.
Senetence of 6 years seems very harsh. Courts kept him hanging for 15 plus years due to their own incompetence. He never killed or threatened to hurt any one. This article is not even clear of all the charges against Sanju but possessing a gun is not worth 6 years.
