False and ineffective justice
by Jaganath Bharat on Aug 01, 2007 03:40 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

This trial is a sham. True justice would be to send undercover group of commando's and secret operatives to search and destroy D.Ibrahim. Instead the soft and more easily available co-operative, and relatively innocent people like Dutt are being used as exemplary scape-goats. This trial is a political ploy to hide national weakness in bringing the real crooks to justice. How impotent also is the system in bringing any genuine accomplices of Ibrahim, like Pakistani PM to justice. He refused to extradite the hard-core criminal. Justice is not done, dirty politics is done.

What about Prabhakaran who plotted and killed Rajiv Gandhi and 13 others and Dawood Ibrahim who master minded all the terrorist acts. I don't think Sanjay Dutt deserved that kind of harsh punishment. He did not commit any ghastly crimes. Sure those were the days when every Muslimfelt like killing every Hindu and vice versa. But, the punishment meted out soundsmore like he had in fact committed all those crimes and not as though he just had some unpopular alliances in those days.

Read here about threat perception. It is surprising people are not aware of it and Sanjay haters tend conveniently overlook that.

The court accepted Sanjay's plea that he obtained the weapons for self-defence. Also read this.

Not Fair...
by Shan on Aug 01, 2007 03:29 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

It is outrageous. Everybody knows that he had no intentions of hurting anybody.
He committed a stupid mistake and he suffered for 13 years for it. That itself is enough of punishment for him. We all know that in India real criminals and politicians with criminal background are roaming free without any fear. Those people and their actions are real threat to society and affects real people and their lives. Have you ever heard of anybody of them going to jail for long term? There are scores of bad people with illegal arms and bad intentions and nobody wants to do anything against them.
All I can say is its not fair at all%u2026%u2026

Comeon man. The verdict is unbiased, do you think based on your argument, judge will say its ok you can go home, lot of other people also have weapons. His 'conduct' is the highlight point in the verdict. The way judge chose his links with underworld to show that he is not eligible for POA are excellent. I do not know about Dutts problems but all I know is everybody is equal before law. That's why she is blindfolded.

Well for one it is easy to pick on soft targets.
Actors make for easy targets and results are highly visible to keep gullible people happy.
I do think though some more punishment like maybe another year would have been more appropriate since what he did was unlawful but magnitude is a bit harsh.
There are tons of such criminal politicians in UP/Bihar but they hardly ever are convicted. In very rare cases if there is some really serious charge(few murders etc) then maybe.
I would be happier if some of those politicians got the rap.
But Bombay police did control(extra-judicial actions) these gangs which used to run extortion rackets pretty well so hopefully action is happening and then people will not feel the need for these things.
Looking at the scenario those days(92-93), it is not entirely un-imaginable for someone who(or family- read muslim mom) could be a target, to keep ammunition etc. If customs could allow guns to be brought in with some bribe, it does not inspire lot of confidence. I hope this is considered by SC.

Whiner.. whats ur point.. just because some politicians in UP/Bihar are not in jail we should free up all criminals in the country? Look at this from positive side...We as a country henceforth will not spare any more rich, famous, poor, popular people for their wrong doings

His family had also received threats. So circumstances were not usual for him.

Difference between rioters and bombers!

Why are rioters not branded as terrorists when the bombers are?
Both kill people.
Any answers?

terrorists kill people just for the sake of nothing. They dont have any primary cause to kill the opponent. Riots often occur in reaction to a perceived grievance or out of dissent. The people involved ina riot hardly know what they are doing......this is a simple cause and effect. Of course we shd condemn both riots and terrorism but riots are totally different because you involve in that due to emotional reasons and mental trauma and you hardly know anything u are doing.

Are you getting anything from Sanjay Dutt, in kind or money. He is not innocent but BIG PHOOL (FOOL, IDIOT etc), carried away by Muslims because his mother is Muslim and father got converted Muslim if you don't know for your knowledge.

Thanks

I think your comments are based on your intolerance with the moslims. No dude just for your kind information, sanjay is a moslim. His mother is nargis. Wanted to know what he said to his father when he was arrested,

--------

Sanjay conceded that he had been in possession of an assault rifle and some ammunition that he had got from Anees Ibrahim. Sunil Dutt wanted to know the reason why. He was not prepared for the answer: %u201CBecause I have Muslim blood in my veins. I could not bear what was happening in the city.%u201D

-------------

Chk the below link,

http://www.tehelka.com/story_main28.asp?filename=Ne240307How_the_CS.asp&id=1

Even now my comments are not based on whether he is hindu or moslim, remember the police and security that allowed the immunition to be carried away, they r hindus and they allowed that by accepting bribe. So to all guys out there irrespective of being hindu r moslim r christian plz condemn this dastard and barbaric act and hail the justice. In fact i feel the police and security deserve more punishment because if they act well this could have been avoided.

Hail the justice. eradicate the policticians and the corruption.

I have seen so many showing sympathy for sanjay. What the hell are we thinking. No one said he is planning to attack some one.....But what is the need for him to possess weapon of mass destruction and hand grenades. If he thinks he is in danger, he can go for private security or police protection.

And what kind of people would have connections with Dawood ibrahim. If a politician had similar connections would you be silent. No way. just because he is a movie actor and you like his movies dont be too soft towards him. It is this kind of attitude that is making our country weak. Forget he is a movie star and then think his role and his mistake. 257 have been killed. Just imagine how you would feel if your father/mother/brother/sister is one of them.

Think...think and think.

This is about a particular verdict which Sanjay was involved in. Why bring irrelevant riot in here? According to your logic we should then go back the barbaric ages of muslim invaders when millions of Hindus were either killed or converted to present day bombers?
