If, as it seems to be, Haneef was not guilty then he should be free. It doesnt matter what other muslims have done in the UK or elsewhere. Of course, more amd more muslims must start working against some islam-associated 'practises' such as intolerance towards non-muslims in muslim countries (Egypt, Pakistan, Malaysia etc). Right now they are too busy defending Islam and some of its medieval ideas and not doing enough to combat the many, many fundamentalists and radicals among themselves.
But that said, Hindus and other non-muslims must protect the rights of innocent muslims. And the way Australia has behaved with Haneef should be considered an insult to all Indians. Nobody is going to say an Indian muslim did something as they do say for British or US or European muslims. They will say an Indian did it! So let us work to clear the name of ALL Indians who are innocent. Indian muslims are by and large still unique and very different from other muslims. They must be extended the "..hand of the patriot".
