Oil dependency won't get avoided. It is a way for some greener alternative of some of new demands.

Less oil will be used to create electricity. Less oil will thus be imported. It's all a cycle.

That is good also. It will make the saudi's reserve last long. But don't call anybody as whore, who is supplying your great asian country also. I am an Indian.

If you are an Indian why do you say "your" great asian country. and not "our"

There is something fishy here

No doubt, the deal is unique done by two big giant democrats.Appears a win win situation for both. We certainly need energy to plough our fields and industry.I am sure, all hastles now will be over.

This will go a long way in freeing us from the clutches of the stupid Iranian mullahs and the House of Saud with their corrosive anti humanity POV.

Freedom from dependence on OPEC is a great deal.

If there was no Oil Saudi Barbaria would be a wasteland where the beuodins would fight after camels and no more. Not that it is any better now; but the Sheiks would not have money to fund OBL Whabbi schools in India and other such hate joints

What pointing religion? Are you so stupid t hat you can't see how religion, in fact, one particular religion, is so adversely affecting the world?

In fact, if you are from the said religion, your chances of succeeding in life are curtailed sharply.

India has lot of muslims, muslims are going to mecca for celebration, we give subsidy also. We have second largest muslim population, more than total arab combined. They are our fellow citizens. I am a hindu. I don't like violent form of any religion or organization, but not any religion or organization or country in particular

And if we are a truly secular country we should not give subsidies the laws should be same for all.

Which is not the case today. In any case what is the point and what does it have to do with the deal.

Where did I get religion in the picture?? Wahabbimis is virulent strain of thought not religion.

Of course you can say all philosophies are religion only in which case all thought is religion and hence all disagreement is blasphemy and all are sinners....

Enjoy

India, a
by Chakravarthy Muralidhar on Jul 28, 2007 11:17 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Dr.Anil Kakodkar, addressing a press conference yesterday (27th July) indicated that the civil nuke cooperation did not have any implications on our nuke weapons program. Almost immediately the US Under-secretary, Nicholas Burns reacted by stating that "US ask for return of technology and fuel in case India tests another bomb".
This really shows that either the deal has not seen the end of dialogue or that the US is playing it dirty as is their wont in all its deals with India. In this scenario, should India press on with or drop it? I strongly feel that latter would be a safer option. This deal is a trap for forcing India to play ball with the Allied Forces in Iraq, Afghan and West Asia. The US, Europeans and their stooges (Aussies, NZ, etc.) are tired fighting battles in foriegn lands, especially Islamic countries and losing their people. There is stiff public opposition back home, but the geopolitical environment is not conducive for disengagement, as it would be viewed as victory for Islam both in Islamic countries as well as by the Christian ideologues. The latter want their political parties in power to bring the Hindu angle to the whole conflict. After all the Christians -including the Pope- have vowed to convert all the "pagan Hindus" come what may. What's better than forcing the rulers of India to join them in their ideological war against Islam in due course by offering so-called strategic cooperation now in the form of Nuke Deal, Space Deal, etc.?

Remember the US cant seem to make too many concessions or the deal wont fly...

How do you ask for the return of technology? Do you brainwash all the Indians who have seen the tech??

How do you take back working nuclear reactor; it just cant be done.

This also paves the way to let others deal with us to sell tech and fuel.

And stop getting religion into all things; just shows that you are narrow minded person nothing more.

It is easy to be naive! About 500 years ago christianity was not known in the American continent. It was only the indigenous culture of American Indians which existed, embracing the beautiful nature and the elements pervading America from shore to shore. In less than 100 years from then, they were uprooted and decimated like pests by the invading christians. The few who were allowed to live were converted to the intimidating faith! It is now the religion of that country, in fact the entire continent! Remember, every American President vows his unquestionable allegiance to Christianity alone and promises to espouse its cause throughout the world. You must read the statements, pertaining to this issue, made by Eisenhover, JFK, LBJ,Nixon, Reagan, Senior and Jr.Bushes and even the amorous Clinton! Jimmy Carter was a rare exception. But he was termed an "un-American" President by the Press and American public opinion! That is the background canvas for you. Now, to take a closer look all you need is to land in any city like Miami, Orlando, New Orleans in south or LA, Frisco in West or Pittsburg, Washington in East.See if you can go freely with a 'Red Indian'or an Indian identity without facing racial taunts! That is hi-tech, racy, open, broad-minded, free, secular America for you! Of course, being simple-minded we are at home with parsi, muslim, christian, sikh, jain, buddhist creeds. But we are still narrow-minded when we take our oath on Bhagwath Geeta! It is crime to unravel deceit.

Good slap on stupid Pakistani's

They never understand they got a country in Bheek; and their founder it self called it moth eaten.

Now that Britian is in decline; Pakistan has lost its sponsor who used it as a agent to tie down India.

Pakistan is on its way to meet its own death. Destruction of civil society in the hands of the Taliban Islamist it created to hurt others.

As you sow so shall you reap

China doesnt have ne other alternative than helping pakistan as he doesnt have any country in Asia region whom it can use against india. russia, japan, korea will never turn against india if china gets hostile. its only pak where they can see a light of hope. Same with pak.. both r using each other against india. China has always been in US radar for providing nuclear assistant to pak n other countries. US knows india is not on any country mercy like China for Nuclear technology though it needs uranium to process it. So US has acted wisely to include india under his umbrella and its good for India that he can get advance tech and rich uranium from NSG countries like Russia, France and from US without any objection from any country. If deal goes fine you will india's big corporates like NTPC, Nuclear Power Corp., Tata Power and Reliance energy turning into big Nuclear Power companies and not to mention the big FDI which will come from US and other NSG countries.. so I would say it only a good work from Manmohan singh govt in last 3 years..

Yes; it is the only good work done by Chua Singh because it was actually started by ABV; even Chuha Singh concedes as much.

But that said:
I think MMS is a hostage of Sonia Karat gang and he pretty much allowed compromise on all issues including going soft on terror to please the tratior ins Karat gang just to get support on the deal.

Poor MMS

Great observation,
Are you pointing these things that it is good for growing India or oh! India also might have some heavy industries w/ some names visible kind of feeling?!

When India didn't get uranium during 2006, but neighbors got tons & tons (like one person eating while other person dying like hungry). Didn't there any logical theory like that strikes into your mind?
