Ok major. I am convinced.
I have one q for you. Your expressions are quite good . Will you clarify one of my related query? Why do we have Nuks. To retaliate ...right? What wil be the grade of provocation when we will retaliate? and How much?

Nukes are primarily for a deterrent. A deterrent means a capability that stops the enemy from attacking you because of the knowledge that you have fearsome ability to harm. Grade of provocation is simple, an attempted or actual nuclear attack, or solid evidence that a nuclear attack is imminent in very near future.

hi Shriniwas Deshpande
You can have your own views as you are free. but sorry you are a very -ve minded proud indian. sorry for saying so. There cannot be some sort of levels or standards to retaliate. All depends upon situation. if there is some war between PAK and IND and Pak using nuk. IND will have all option open to use nuk as our PM's expressed to whole world. WHEN THERE IS WAR THERE IS WAR (an answer to than naval cheif in 1971 war by Late Indira Gandhi). All depends upon on situations. and most importantly this is an issue not to be debated at all.

It is a civil nuclear deal when India is retaining the right to reprocess US nuclear fuel and technology in its own way and also retaining the right to test more nuclear bombs. So the question is spot on.

I Kargil we reacted after long time. We lost many precious lives just to regain what we had lost. So I don't agree when somebopdy says we have will to retaliate the hostile country so as to send it to stone age or Afrikan roots. We simply don't have any sort of deterrant

I am trying to point out that we simply don't get provoked untill things are hopelessly against us. We don't react Sharply. We don't have system to react reflexly. Do we not need system which can take quick decisions especially with nuk hostile neighbours

The 3 officers were the spear head. This was a very well handled operation.

In India RDX comes from Pakistan and not Indian sources; your logic is extremely flawed.

If folks want to get radio active material there is enough around already to get your hands on; what does the nuke deal do.

Where you taught logic in Lahori madarrass??

I should not have expected you to understand sigh...
let me spell it out for you.

The RDX originated in Pakistan; the Bombay blasts were planned by ISI, there is Nuclear material in Pakistan so if ISI wants it can send it to India through same means.

There is no correlation between Nuclear deal between India US and nuclear terrorism.

What you are doing is called Lahori logic. where sincs 2 < 10 and 3 < 10 => 2 == 3.

Of course if Pak tries that stunt we will probably bomb them back to their roots in Africa

If we go by ur logic, we should not be venturing into anything bcoz there is a possibility of corruption or failure in every aspect of national as well as personal life.

My dear Shriniwas, A ship is always safe at the shores or in the dockyard but that is not what it is built for. Let us show more confidence and belief in our own country and in its abilities. We are a strong country and let us take on the world from a position of strength.

There may be some people of doubtful integrity but there are more people of integrity in the country too.

America is not our trusted ally.We shouldnt get tainted with these kind of choclaty speech. Why we require nuclear energy. If we are badly needing it , cant we get it from other european countries.Onething i would like to say that whether u use atomic energy either constructive or non-constructive, the threat associated with it cant be ruled out.We have to look for alternatives like solar and tidal energy. We are having long coast @15000kms and throughout the day the sunlight is available. We have to find out the way to reap benefits from these sources.i hope my fellow indians also having the same thought.

We have not learnt to harness Solar and other non conventional energies efficently and cheaply yet; it will be few years before that it possible.

Even there we would need to collabarote with USA since they are the leaders in the field of solar tech. All the collaborations can happen only after strategic deals such as this are signed.

We should definetly look at all energy sources.

However no foregin power including Russia can supply us nuclear fuel and tech. since we are not part of NSG; and NSG wont accept us till US does; it is that simple to realize that US is defacto super power and we should work with it.

Even during the cold war USSR didnt have the balls to cross US and supply us with nuclear material

I agree in toto with Major. We must have access to all energy sources.

Without an agreement with US, no other country can supply to us. But after the agreement, India can buy from any of the NSG countries incld. Russia, China, Australia.

Please also keep in mind that the world is becoming more and more interdependent. No country incld. India & US can say that they are not dependent on the others.Ultimately your strength will determine the level of co - operation. And India is a strong country and is well moving in the right direction.

Please ask yourself honestly, Hindus have made this country prosperous with a lot of hardships, unlike other Islamic countries who are either destroyed or rich because of OIL, why do you guys want to take it away from us?

Hindus are majority now and hence we want to see India secular, but when Muslims are majority, then will India be secular? Yeah maybe as secular as Pakistan callas itself secular.
