Future
by jackson on Jul 29, 2007 03:03 AM  Permalink

Fantastci Deal. All this has been done with FUTURE of India in mind. IF we want to achieve as Kalamji said, we need energy. Can anyone think of gas from Iran via Paki. I don't think it would materialise in near future, because it has to cross Balochistan. Big cheers to PM. Let us face the future bravely. Once we acquire capability of intercepting enemy missiles, this subject will evade. I just started visualizing how this energy is going to prosper India.
Let us think positive. 2020 - INDIA THE SUPERPOWER.

pakis need not worry, indian secularism will come to its aid
by Pradip Parekh on Jul 28, 2007 09:33 PM  Permalink

i predict the future secular forces in india will feel compelled to provide to pakis what usa is now denying them. usa is not being very smart in giving this nuke stuff to the hindu country which it presupposes as inherently safe.

What was initiated by Atal Bihari Vajpayee of BJP was concluded by Manmohan Singh of Congress. But we must all appreciate the negotiating team too for doing a very fine job. Every negotiation involes an element of give and take.It may not satisfy all Indian Concerns but under the circumstances, it is the best we have.

Pak rebuffed by Australia on Nuclear fuel
by vimal bhasin on Jul 28, 2007 01:00 PM  Permalink

Australia%u2019s Foreign Minister Alexander Downer on Friday dismissed a plea from a Pak minister to supply uranium to his country, saying Pak did not have any nuclear power stations.Pakistan's Religious Affairs Minister Ijaz-ul-Haq said if Canberra agreed to sell uranium to India, it should also consider selling the resource to its Pak to keep the balance of power.

%u201CAnd I am not sure the minister for religious affairs could really be termed an expert on this subject, he would be an expert on religious affairs.

Do we have deterrent?
by Shriniwas Deshpande on Jul 28, 2007 12:43 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Kargil we reacted after long time. We lost many precious lives just to regain what we had lost. So I don't agree when somebopdy says we have will to retaliate the hostile country so as to send it to stone age or Afrikan roots. We simply don't have any sort of deterrant

So what do you want? You started arguments by stating the need for solar energy, then questioned the need & utility for nuclear weapons and now r saying we don't have nuclear weapons.

I never said ...we shouldn't want nuk bombs. We must have them but we must a have expressed policy regarding its use, so that it really acts as deterrent

hi Shriniwas Deshpande
You can have your own views as you are free. but sorry you are a very -ve minded proud indian. sorry for saying so. There cannot be some sort of levels or standards to retaliate. All depends upon situation. if there is some war between PAK and IND and Pak using nuk. IND will have all option open to use nuk as our PM's expressed to whole world. WHEN THERE IS WAR THERE IS WAR (an answer to than naval cheif in 1971 war by Late Indira Gandhi). All depends upon on situations. and most importantly this is an issue not to be debated at all.

Just to add to the above, what will India do if it is suddenly attacked by N bombs? Tell the enemy to wait and go shopping...
