The country's prestige is at stake when charges of terrorism is made. It was right on the part of the government to help him. Your attitude is immature. If you were in Haneef's place would you not expect help? Indian's need to be careful in going to countries where they are exploited and not treated well ( you have mentioned Malaysia and Gulf)! You should be ashamed of criticising the good work done by the Indian Government!
even if Haneef was innocent, Dr haneef is no hero just another individual struggling to live for himself in some alien country. just leave that man alone and no need to glorify him now that he is free.

Sassy could help the Australian Govt get at the truth because intelligent people like Sassy are not avilable in that country. If sassy knows the truth he could volunteer.
I appreciate the way indian government followed the case and got Haneef freed. It will be more appreciated if our dear government can raise the issue of war prisoners with Pakistan and get them freed as their families are waiting for their beloved ones for over 3 decades. After all they are our soldiers and fought for nation's pride. We will appreciate if Afzal is hanged as he killed our soldiers and supreme court has already been given the decision.

OK.. you have some yardstick.. when you said Muslim has some preferential treatment from government, I pointed out abt shankaracharya... Problem is that If one is Muslim, he can be easily be branded as terrorist. Every citizen should have concern on this. There was a time when every Sikh was considered terrorist. Mr.Major Sassy, I don't thinkg you are major. look like a minor only. use some comon sense while writing or remove Major from your name. But you are oversmart.
It is a combination of political pressure and techincal mistakes that have allowed a person who is almost certainly a helper of terrorists to walk free even if for now only.
If any one has read his interview carefully his guilt is clear if not provable.
Let focus on Haneefs interview
1) He lets Ilian use his house and his computer yet knows nothing of him how convenient
2) His boss expects him for work tomorrow and he has a one way ticket to Bangalore even when he knew that return tickets are cheaper.
3) He stays with his cousins casually and leaves behind his sim card; and claims to know nothing about them.
4) He is a practicing Muslim but does not know if he is a Shia or a Sunni or any other sect, or he claims those divisions are "created". Hilarious.
5) His cousins are "moderate" Muslims but they still manage to pray 5 times a day even in UK. And they are professional. Shit man the software ware engineers and doctors I know don't have time to go to the loo even.
6) Does not want to comment on Iraq and Afganistan? Why?
Remember this is a police interrogation and he is being charged for a very serious crime; at that point of time you don't spout fundaes like

Yeah...But Australians had to free him as they did not have any physical evidence.......And in that case they cant charge him...Although What you have suggested based on his interview with Australian Police Officer it clearly seems that he knew many things.......You are very much right that how it is possible that he stays with his cousin but doesnt know much about him? All this is circumstantial evidence.........Now Australians couldnt have tortured him due to mounting international pressesure and they had to just reply on Haneef by questioning and counter questioning him....And as it didnt prove anything they did not have any other option then to set him free...We will never know whether he was innocent or guilty...But as of now as per the law we have to accept he is innocent...or the Pesudo Secularists will gather and brand us Hindu - Fantatic and RSS worshiper...
