Who says he was not able to uplift Bihar? He was able to uplift his caste and community, assure communal peace for 15 years, bring about the rise of the backward castes,
and...uplift his own family and friends.

It might be better to leave India
by Anil Gonsalves on Jul 26, 2007 04:36 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Best of all is to simply secede from India and be independent. We do not need the Central (read Delhi) government. The money from tourism and remittances from the hardworking Goans in the Gulf and US/UK as well as mining is more than enough for Goa to survive. Goa does not really need India to survive financially. It can take care of itself.

Please keep in mind that majority of poultry and produce is brought in from other states. Even though you might be able to survive on "Fish & Rice", think what would you do in the "Non-fishing" season. Do not rant.

No doubt our so called politicians are a bunch of no-good doers. No wonder the entire lot are called "Ali Baba & The Forty Thieves" - Read Governor & the elected MLA's.

Goa , next in Line after Up and Bihar
by Sunder Raj on Jul 26, 2007 04:34 PM  Permalink

Goa %u2018s political system is much similar to %u201Ccomputer infected with virus%u201D

Once your PC is infected with virus you cannot predicts its behavior. PC behaves abnormally, lot of unexpected happens, many times damages, lot of waste of time and money etc etc %u2026 we all know.

Same thing is happening in GOA. Today it is BJP again, don%u2019t know about the tomorrow.

But one for sure , BJP cannot run for a long as entire system is infected with %u201CVirus%u201D

People of Goa need to identify it and clean their political system. Otherwise,
after UP and Bihar , this state will also become a subject of political fun and jokes.

The options are these
by Anil Gonsalves on Jul 26, 2007 04:32 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Goa needs to become a union territory again or be put under permanenet President's rule. THat way, this nonsense of governments falling constantly will be ended. If it becomes a UT, the big advantage will be that it will once again be the beneficiary of large-scale Central government funds as it was in the 1960's. Becoming a UT has big advantages (just look at Chandigarh). This current crop of politicians "devil" parrikar, "robber" Babush "muddler" Digambar "joker" Joaquim and "publicity-minded" Victoria need to be given a hard kick-in the backside.

There are three options in front of Goa:

1.) Become a UT
2.) Put under permanent President's rule.
3.) Merge with Karnataka.

I don't think so. You can see history. Congress has done each and every time they were out of Power. Congress wants to come into power by any means. for that they can make colliation with any party in the country whether they are art rival in the state. This you can see in the central goverment also.

When BJP ruled Goa last time, did they do as suggested by you Mr. Cupid?

I think it was BJP that brought about much-needed development of the state in the last tenure.

You stick to finding girls on internet, this is a different type of topic.

Excuse me, but i totally disagree with your view, Just making the city clean is all that you call development than I think you are still a kid to understand either this issue or even finding out girls on the internet, Goa needs unemployment to be reduced so well come some industrialisation in Goa, And so called your BJP government thinks that bringing IT park in Goa would not solve out the unemployment problem in Goa as many of the outsiders will be employed in this IT parka as Goans are not aware as what is IT.. Do you agree upon that? Do you think that Goans is and paradise of Uneducated?..
