Congratulating President-elect Pratibha Patil.
by daniel thorat on Jul 22, 2007 01:09 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Although I am from Vidarbha, Maharashtra, I am sending my heartiest congratulations to Patibha Patil, not because she is from Maharashtra. She is going to be the President of India, this whole nation ! She is the right choice and we thank the Congress party for that.Abdul Kalam was a much publicised, excessively flattered incumbent -- the father of Indian missile, the missile man, a great and outstanding, world-known scientist, etc.etc. All technology and basic scientific insputs in whatever India is doing in missiles, is of foreign origin, and we have to frequently refer to the west for many solutions in the field. Just as in the field of computers, we are bluffing our nation about the great achievements and credentials of Abdul Kalam ! As an Indian citizen, I will always respect and honour my President, but I must not overlook the factual position. Abdul Kalam, in the very first month of his office, prophesied that by 2020 India will be fully developed ! On what basis in the world was this said? Does he not know exactly where India stands in all fields? Our crimes, child abuse, rape and murder, poverty, Mumbai monsoon miseries, Naxalite challenge, corruption in all field and walks of life -- and the basic problem of lack of any morality and ethics whatsoever in our people? We just cannot miss the maturity and good-natured persona of Pratibha Patil, which are a direly needed, refreshing change for our country. Congratulations, and all good wishes and prayers for you, M

Mr Daniel Thorat you are absolutely right Kalam was an ordinary scientist at DRDO elevated and inflated by media hype. After the Gujarat riots the BJP had their own agenda of pacifying muslims so they lifted him from the dustbin and put him in rashtrapati bhavan where he was a complete disaster. Politics was clearly not his cup of tea.

Ya truly agree, only BJP make APJ face as a big scientist to win sympathy of second biggest majority in India and justify the POKHRAN Explosion. Lot of other adjectives were added as missile man and blah blah blah. But in all he is unmarried so thats why his image is safe from domestic disaster problems of politician.

Does sonia really have that power, is she so intelligent to undermine the likes of ABVP, Rajnath Singh & UNPA (Chandra babu, Jayalalitha, Mulayam), All powerful politicians. India has not only been surrounded by agressive nations (not necessarily neighbours) but also by powerful voices, both internal and external. Sonia isn't intelligent and powerful as she is project to be. Look around the world, developed contries try to control the world, by war or funding money. There are lot of ways to easily destroy the democratic set up in india. Easily done by funding money. These forces that provide money doesn't have to be an external contry, it could also be a private person or company having vested interest. Once you provide money to all the political setup, Netas, Law enforcement it easy to control most of the things in India. It's easy to control the Top most post indirectly. Provide money / fame to the person who are running the show from behind int he congress party and also the Leftist and other intersted parties. Now India is controlled by a person at best a good Economic minister and the Supreme commander of the armed forces is nothing but a rubber stamp. The president of the most powerful party in india is not an indian and also a stupid person who can be easily manipulated in the name of Rajiv Gandhi or her daughter or son.

The only way out, is for Indians to become quickly educated on capitalism and world politics.

Sonia Gandhi is a great personality, but not because of her own scheming or cunning at all ! She is great because she has been made great by right minded people of this country, which fortunately is still a vast majority. Sonia has no selfish interests, unlike the names you have mentioned. There is no need to feel strongly about India being guided and led by our truly great Prime Minister and by truly great Indian, Sonia Gandhi. You should never forget that this country was ruled by the Mughals and the ritish for a thousand years !! The Gandhi family has done great sacrifices for India, which no Bajpayee/ Advani/ Rajnath/ Jayalalithaa, Mulayam or Chandra Babu can and will ever do. Kalam was really a person installed by BJP for their immediate political gain. I pray to Almighty od that our PM and Sonia Gandhi and President-elect Pratibha Patil live long and guide and lead this nation.

When you can accept a criminal (Babri demolition)Advani as your Home Minister and Dy.PM, facing very, very serious criminal charges in a court of law, can you judge who deserves what? The allegations are all false, not one of these having every been proved.

Congratulations Mrs. Patil for becoming President of biggest democracy. Although you were not first choice of common people, hope you will leave these matters behind and rise up to the stature of this position.
Hope you will prove that you are not a puppet in hands of congress anymore and keep yourself separate from party politics.
Hope you will rise up to occasions where you are expected to take decisions without interference of Parliament and parties.
Hope you will take proper stand in crucial issues such as Nuclear agreements where ruling administration is not able to live up to expectations.

Well, now that she has become the president, we have to take some proactive measures.
Pratibha Patil, its pretty obvious that you are like a puppet being controlled by its master(Congress).
Please do not say everything that pops into your head. However, if you feel the need to do so, please see a therapist. I'm sure Soniaji won't mind paying for your weekly, may be daily visits.
All the best!

Forgotten Times
by Anjan Datta on Jul 22, 2007 12:45 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

The previous 2 presidents (including the outgoing) were chosen not for their greatness but because of their social/ religious background. Why shouldn't the theme be gender this time. It is at least better than caste / religious polictics. True, the previous incumbents had a clean public image, but that is more because none of them had a political career. Who in politics today can be vouched for being 'clean' - even the communists will not pass muster. Does this mean that there should be no President, if there are no eligible 'political' candidates. In that case, we do not see even a single 'outsider' courageous individual who ran for the presidential election as an 'independent'. It can only be deduced that most Indians did support the candidate, else surely at least one person from a billion people nation would have stood up against the so-called 'travesty of justice'.

Does that mean we are to celebrate PP's election? Think of the poor woman who has lost her husband and is running from pillar to post for justice. Think of the family of the poor teacher who committed suicide thanks to harassment by PP's husband. Think of all those poor people who lost their savings when PP's bank swindled their money. How can you say that all these are to be given a decent burial. Can you think of any such thing happening in any developed country? And we pride ourselves on the fact that we are on our way to becoming a developed country. If people are concerned, it is not without reason.

All these are only allegations made by the BJP in the run up to the elections . Why was the BJP silent on these issues for all these years even when they were in power at both the centre and in maharashtra ? It is just political witch hunting because they knew that bhairon singh was fighting a losing battle.

Mr kumar I think most of these idiots who are attacking pratibha patil here are basically young guys who have been brought up on a diet of mallika sherawat and rakhee sawant and cannot rencile to an elderly (old ?) woman being in the news. These guys will not even respect their own mother

Mr.Alegavi, I do not know how you can say that these are unfounded allegations. PP's bank just collapsed and left the depositors in a lurch. It is a fact. It is also a fact that the bank lent the money to her relatives which was later written off. You and I may not be directly affected by these incidents, but think of the poor people who lost their savings, their hard earned money. It is unfair to say that all these are trumped up charges just becuase of your opposition to the BJP and Kalam. And please don't abuse Kalam when you don't like PP being abused.
