It is inded a sad day for india that politicians have imposed upon us person who has no standing in any field except that she has done law.The Congress party has done disservice tot he Nation as is their wont.
We had pride in saying that Mr. Kalam was our president, but now we feel ashamed that a person like Pratibha will be our president for the next 5 years. I am not against women presidents but we shoudl have gone for a correct women person
By not providing Dr A P J Abdul Kalam, the second term, the politicians of our country have done the greatest favour to him as his personality has attained the zenith in the history of India who has broken all the past records of patriotism and vision. He is the world leader so much so, the position of President of India becomes too small to his stature. One should be very clear particularly the youth, that positions never bring in fame to any body except being symbolic. It is the intrinsic worth of an individual that provides the strength and stature to the position that one holds.
The prsident in Inida is a suboirdinate of he ruling party or the ruling coalition and has no real value since the election to the office is NOT DOE BY THE PEOPLE but corrupt legioslators .in th epresent context , it is very well -known that the th emajority of the people wanted Abdul Kalam to continue ;but the political parties forming he governemnt dids not want the people's choice at the center. Is it not proof thaqt the politicalparties in p[ower do not care for the views and requirements of the people ? Election to the post of president should be by the people directly.even a panchayat president is elected by the people directly ; but the President of the largest democracy is just appointed by the politicl leadears commanding th emajority in the legislatures and parliament . So the Inidan president is a rubber stamp in th ehands of the ruling party or rhe majority coalition .The political parties have amended the constitution ,many times for their own cxonvenience of securing more votes for themselves .they should be forced to amend the constitution to provide for the direct election of the president also in th einterst of the nationwhich deserves something more than a rubber stmp in the hands of the ruling political parties.
It iz common knowledge that mozt politicianz are corrupt and that iz why they are politicianz to earn by ztealing from the people for political favourz. Atleazt the preztigiouz zeat of the Prezident of the country zhould have been left for a non-politician and a non-corrupt citizen. Politicz in India iz zuch a zhame.

What can he with this useless constitution?. The creator of this constitution unaware of the future politicians. they failed to predict and have not given the provision of reviewing the constitution when time changes by the apex court. I would say our constitution given way to the politician to strengthen them selfs. unbalanced power in pillars of the democratic India. Give your voice to change the constituion

I just checked the President of India's web site. If Prof A.P.J.Kalam who incidentally still appears as President of India (shows how efficient our government websites managers are), is India's ELEVENTH president, how can Patil be the THIRTEENTH? Either one got away when no one was looking, or Rediff's incompetence has become proverbial and articles are dashed off without being checked for errors and omissions and corrected accordingly. Incorrect reporting should be punishable by law.
