We all know what ails us, but who will bell the cat?
Let us stop complaining and get real. If Gandhiji relied on the internet to mourn, Britsh would still be ruling us.
To learn to swim, we have to get really wet. To set things right is not a joke, anywhere. I was just watching Bernanke grilled by congressmen. They take things seriously and can really talk (nonsence, to me at least). US is being taken for a ride by the Chinese. They can sqeeze them where it hurts. Japanese will be saints by comparison.
We have real problems, but have no clue how to go about it. The young are the majority. What are they waiting for? The old are really old. Give them a break. Let Harry Potter gen take over. They can turn things upside down, download films in seconds, send sms,mms and what not. Why rely on oldies who cannot even see what is on the screen?
The new gen can come clean, forget about religion, caste etc as they all believe in modern tech - one world. Let the oldies fight to death over their Gods and upteen grouses.
President Kalam is really young at heart. He sees God in children. No need for heaven in after life, while he enjoys it here. Bali bombers were promised 72 virgins in heaven. Heaven soon ran short and had to ration. President Kalam does not need even one. He is alone, but never lonely. He looks forward to a new journey everyday, not necessarily at Rashtrapathy Bhavan.
President Kalam can bless the young, let there be thousand Kalams.

Friends Prativa Mam is going to be our President. I don't think that she will get better respect from the Indians like Kalam. Let's see how obedient she is towards the Party President.

It is shocking that sub-mediocres like pratibha patil can rise to be allowed to become a president! No developing country would opt for such a path. It's a crying shame.Indian politics has hit rock botttom.

there is misunderstanding in your mind. actualy it would have been shocking if person like Mr.Narayanmurti, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam and so on becme President of India In Mafia Raj. As it is expected that person with goonda & currupt background can only taKE HIGHEST POST IN iNDIA

Well... in this regards whosoever becomes the president the only thing which concern us is the development of the country. Especially the country in which the Mafia can be termed as the only ruler of this country actually after Britishers left.
In these regards, the person who can be fit for the president post is the one who has a will and power to fight the Mafia, can be termed as a Born Dictator or who can symbolify the people's democratic leader and the Mafia's dictator... Guys now is your chance to start pointing the person who can be fit for this post in India. A post well renowned and well-esteemed.

A candidate who respects freedom of religion is not communal and does not bear allegience to the same is best.

Dr. kalam will not be away from bunch of "Jokaers" but from "GANG OG MASFIA.' "JOKER HELP CHILDREN TO SMILE" BUT MAFIA TAKE AWAY SMILE FROM CHILDREN
It's surprising that personality like Dr. Kalam played in the hands of the dalals of Indian politics like Amar Singh & Mulayam Yadav and others. And it is astonishing that seeing no chance of a win & denying repetedly for not contesting for a 2nd term he was asking for confirmation of a win. Is it a democracy or what ? you may get awards like this but not democratic posts. It was not wise for him to do this. Again why he is opting for Delhi for a residence not Chennai where he is going to teach. who will bear the cost of his frequent trips from chennai to delhi.

He would be teaching at Chennai as visting professor which is not a full time job. For retiring President's the Government usually provide a residence and he has opted for Delhi. Sounds reasonable. As a teaching faculty he would be staying in a Guest house like set up within the University campus. His personal expenses after his retirement would be borne by himself (or the sponsorer) and not by Government of India.
Dr Kalam did not ask for a second term. Polical parties were asking him time and again to contest. He said "If there is consensus, I can otherwise not". When he found that consensus is not possible, he moved away. Even 5 years back, he said the same regarding contesting. He never went out of the way and asked for a second term and he never craved for the position.

I feel he can do more good things to the nation as good tutor rather being a president. He will be guide lot of people who wants to become a scientist like him. As an indian i am really happy he is relieved from bunch of jokers.
The ga-ga, over Rashtrapati. What Mr Kalam has done for country as an scientist, he couldnt do it as a President, cause it is a dummy character in our country. He has to just sign on what bunch of selfish pople decide at Parliament. I feel better for Mr Kalam, as now he is again an free man.
