Presidential Peccadilloes ...
by R Chakravarti on Jul 29, 2007 11:21 AM  Permalink

As a presidential election was held in India recently I thought this article had
something to do with it. But apparently "President" means the U.S. President
to many Indians!

Chinese Checkers
by Sanjeev Sharma on Jul 23, 2007 04:11 PM  Permalink

US and India are not the only counries where Chinese indulge in significant subversion. Indian leaders (including non-communists) practically eat out of the hands of Chinese leaders.

Pakistan has practicallyy become a client regime loyal (to the extent a nation protituting itself to highest bidders) China, Saudi Arabia and to a lesser extent of US.

Sudan is able to thumb its nose on world and continue the genocide of black muslims thanks to support of Chinese junta (and Arabian governments).

Bangladesh is well on its way to become another client of China and has already been promised nuclear power technology (you know who the ultimate beneficiary of nuclear bombs will be) just like Pakistan to perpetually tie down India on both sides and into a dead alley called SAARC, where Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh will definitely bat for China and against India.

mohammadan subverson
by Sanjeev Sharma on Jul 23, 2007 04:04 PM  Permalink

Propping up Obamma seems to me a similar project of mohammadan brotherhood, something like of which created a possibility of british pricess Diana becoming mother of a child from a Mohammad Al-Fayd, which probably led to her 'accidental death'.

saving grace
by Sanjeev Kumar Sharma on Jul 23, 2007 04:00 PM  Permalink

The fact that educated and logical people can still write and publish is a saving grace for the down the toilet site like rediff should be considered a saving grace.

However, in the long term, Rediff is on an unstoppable journey to worthlessness. And it will have no one to blame for its own attitude that presupposes its readers are morons.

Good analysis
by Jeffrey Mittal on Jul 23, 2007 09:24 AM  Permalink

I think that you have brought some excellent points.
The big question is whether the Indian leadership will ever do anything other than trying to hold on to their position and rob the common man.

I fully agree that for Americans, the USA comes first and that is always their first priority. They cannot be bought off as pathetically cheaply as the Indian "leaders".

What a shame. All we can do is try to see if we can make difference.

Indians are zilch politically.
by ravi prakash on Jul 22, 2007 10:51 AM  Permalink

The piece highlights this fact. It is common knowledge in the International arena. How do we manage it? We should put it in Ripley's Believe it or Not- A Nation of One billion, the largest market in the world, the Seventh largest country in the world and USD one trillion plus economy; counts for nothing! It should wake up anyone, but the world goes around as if we don't matter at all. We must, like the earth which supports us but demands nothing, consider our collective consciousness as mud. Even after 60 years of independence we are in deep slumber.
It is time that ordinary citizens assert their dignity rather than wait for our nation to wake up and do something about it.

RE:very good message.
by Sanjeev Kumar Sharma on Jul 23, 2007 03:43 PM  Permalink
so Rediff, should we now expect a barrage of rants from well-known anarchists, naxalites, jnu terrorists rights' brigade (all Rediff's in-house propagandists) to abuse Rajeev Srinivasan ?
He has just done a cardinal sin of exposing that indian media and polticians are frequently bought by Chinese, that too for peanuts ?

BTW, Chindu (China's Natiional Newpapers in Chennai) seem to be not sold. They are part and parcel of Xinhua for all practical purpose.
