People are too busy in Sa-re-ga-ma or Indian Idol or in some stupid bollywood film or watching another pathetic performance of our cricket heroes (i.e. losers), so dont disturb their slumber.
Also, don't expect from other 300 million people to take part in your struggle to get some more Nuclear Bombs ("National Pride") because they are too busy to get their second meal of the day.

Well, rediff moderator, it is not an abusive comment. Pardon him.
Indians have paid and would continue to pay a HEAVY price for their plain indifference(by not voting)during election time...Result Congress that has S C R E W E D Indians time and again in the last 60 years would keep coming back to power.
THIS B A S T A R D ManMohan would go down in history as the biggest traitor India has ever had as he has PERMANENTLY sold the future freedom of India by making India a LAPDOG of USA for the future.
I AM TOTALLY SHATTERED that these scum Indian Congress has compromised the integrity and freedom of India for a few crumbs...Now all Congressee politicians mus be rubbing their hands in glee at the anticipation of getting commission in each deal from USA Private nuclear companies for setting nuclear plan in India. In the process these Congressee politicians have sold their motherland to a foreign power.

Manmohan Singh's policies and far-sighted decisions are the reason that we have this economic growth now. And if we have to maintain this hard earned growth then I would trust Manmohan Singh any day over any Vajpayees or Deva Gaudas or VP Singhs. He is the best leader in Indian politics who has courage to take big decisions in the interest of country without going into petty party politics.
and Dude, what is this obsession with posting messages twice?

This shows that forget about long vision you cannot see even a foot near to you. Let me remind you the history. congress brought down three successive governments of Gujral, Gowda and Chandershekar and Nehru family think they have right to rule over India. It was then Vajpayee gave this country a firm economic wicket based on which Congress is playing a stupid match today. Congress looks great to Christians and minorities because they find it great that a sikh is prime minister a minority guy who has not fought even a panchayat election. He is a dud. He has been selected by Sonia as she knows that Manmohan has a slave mind.

I am writing this again in order to counter the propaganda by CIA agents like jacob.
Manmohan and Congress has once again sold Indian interests.
Consider some facts: 1. US stops fuel supply to reactors if india tests a nuclear device (even if pakistan or china do so). 2. India can reprocess the spent fuel but cannot use it and will have to sell the fuel to US (If they want or keep in storage). And this right can be with drawn by US any time for their SUPREME interest. 3. India will have to stop buying oil or gas from Iran for more than 100 crore rupees in one year. Which means we can buy only 0.12 percent of our oil. 4. India will have to stop making fissile material in FMCT. 5. India CANNOT be recognised as nuclear weapon state.
Today is a day of sadness. India has signed to become an american SLAVE and will never be free again.
History will remember today as the day when congress sold Indian Freedom.

Why all the doom and gloom about this nuclear deal? Has anybody read the agreement because Cabinet has certainly not read it yet. So why this all the chest beating shenanigans and name calling. Let the details come out and then make up you mind. Or is it the Bhagwa-Brigade or Red-Brigade followers have decided to oppose this deal no matter what? This is much bigger issue than partisan politics.
This is a crunch moment for India to decide whether we want one more Nuclear Power plant or Nuclear bomb. Have we decided to play with Big boys or are we always going to be occupied by small potatoes like Pakistan or Iran?
This is such a big deal that we can keep maintain our economic growth and secure our rightful place among big nations with right and pride. If this agreement come close to J18 spirit then we should accept this both hands. I have full confidence in our prime minister to take right decision in this matter as he has done earlier as finance minister. I hope we can achieve everything from this deal what we expected.
Also, what difference does it make whether anyone recognise us as nuclear weapon state or not. This misplace sense of pride is so amazing from a country where 30% of people still live below poverty line, no sanitation and no safe drinking water. My ancestral village got 4 hr electricity suppy a day, should I care about the one more nuclear bomb or one more power plant.

As some of posters will ask questions and as responsible Indian citizens you deserve a reply. Please read carefully: By the way I donot like BJP also but Congress is a party of traitors as this deal proves. Now logic and arguments:
1. The treaty has clause that US CAN with draw al cooperation if India does not support its actions on Iran. Moreover US has a law that any country investing more than 20 million $ per year will be sanctioned. 20million$ means 90 crore rupees. You can easily calculate the petroleum we can buy from Iran with 90 crore per year (and this also includes gas). 2. Another clause states that Indiawill have to sign FMCT.
I very well know what is FMCT and if you need more knowledge than just visit the site www.bharatrakshak.com read discussion on nuclear deal. You will find informed Indian security experts and Nuclear experts and their views.
Whatever I have said is absolute truth. This treaty is another BLUNDER and that after 20 years we will remember this day as when we lost Indian freedom again.
Mr Manmohan singh has proved that he is a great visionary and that he is not afraid to take decisions when it comes to be a question of the future of this country Jacob, New Delhi
Nuclear energy can provide only 10percent of our need. Moreover the price we will have to pay for the american uranium will be no less than oil.
And for that we have sacrificed our foreign policy, nuclear security and national freedom.
Manmohan is a visionary traitor.
But this is not surprising. Congress harbours criminals like Tasslimuddin, Shahbuddin. It is a party of traitors.
The worst part is BJP is a party of fools. They are keeping silent on this extremely important issue and wasted all of their energy on a presidential elections.
Time has come for kicking congress out because even though BJP is foolish it is Nationalistic and not traitor like congress
This is nothing short of national shame. We all know how corrupt the government is but treachery will not be tolerated. We can bear a corrupt head of state but not someone who thinks, "I know what is good for India, you go to hell". Why is BJP not taking to streets, why are they not holding press conferences to tell people. Crores have been gobbled by corrupt politicians, I can stand that but this act of treason.

History is witness to the treachery or naivette of the Congress Party: We all know the passive role played by Krishna Menon and Nehru resulting in the invasion of the North East by China, yet the Congress claims all rights and monopoly to the title of Patriots; we all know how naive Lal Bahadur Shastri was when he was advised to visit Tashkent which resulted in his untimely and mysterious death; we all know how the Bofors deal was gone through and the involvement of the socalled First Family of India, which till date continues to call the shots in this land; what hope does this country have now that we have a Prime Minister who was an ex-Governor of the Reserve Bank of India and who is so keen to turn a blind eye to the corruption that the founder of a bank has feathered in her organisation and is poised as the next First Citizen of this country? Dr Gopalakrishnan and Anil Kakodkar can shout all they want warning us to go with eyes fully open to the nuclear deal, but where money and power are the carrots before our Honourable Men (and Two Women) do they stand a chance of being heard by anyone, let alone Parliament? Anyway, what is the composition of our Opposition? An aged, stinking, rotting, crumbling BJP which is desperately in the act of digging its grave with the machinations of senile, nonagenarians like Vajpayee and Advani who have suddenly realised the value of Jinnah as a patriot;most of the MPs do not understand international relations or the meaning of Nationa

...National Security, not having passed even elementary school; as for the rest they have come up the "hard" way - through the use of muscle and mafia power and they couldn't care less what happens to the country and can hope to be "educated" with money and power by the interested quarters. AG and AK can shout from the rooftops warning the country to go in with eyes fully open into the deal nobody will listen. It will be a surprise if India does not end up as a banana republic of the US and as for the common man, let him get ready to become a citizen of the United States of Amerindia in the near future. As for what the history books will say about the nefarious role of the present powers that be, well, we are no novices in re-writing history books, are we?

Anil Kakodkar was in Washington when this deal was finalised, and he has not made any comments yet. What if he give his consent to this deal, would the people of Bhagwa brigade or red brigade like you would accept this? or Would you call him a traitor as well.

What is the "national shame" in this deal? Have you read the content of the agreement? National pride does not come by the Nuclear Bombs, but comes when common people have access to good education, decent health care, safe drinking water, electricity and opportunity to prosper. When 30% people live with one meal a day, that is the national shame.
Isn't the BJP the same party who tried to sabotage our hard earned economic growth by conducting some unwarranted and meaningless nuclear tests. Isn't this the same BJP which led us to Kargil war because they were so stupid to trust Pakistanis. Isn't this the same BJP whose leaders endangered national security when caught red handed accepting bribes in defence contracts. In the bathroom everybody is naked.
Do not mix this deal with party politics, the issues and stakes are much bigger and important than any party or person.
The matter is basically about technology policy, and the nature of technology is such that security aspects are inevitable. The response to the deal therefore ought to be such that it does not compromise the gains which can be made in other technology sectors.
US political class has openly sought to abridge India%u2019s freedom in relating to other nations and even technology specifics India can pursue. This will not cut any ice and probably India would simply ignore it. There is no reason to presume that if it is sealed by present Administration, the negotiations ought to end.
This big a country cannot be managed by corrupt and subservient politicians of India. Let it to be managed by the selfish, and grabber managers of US.
I am guessing it would be 100 years of US (indirect) rule over India. But we anyways don't have the capability to take care of ourselves so let the others come, and do their own task, hopefully that will wake us up. Historically speaking we are not suited for self rule. Since last 500 years we have just ruled ourself for 60 years. So I am fully for the deal. HAIL US.

ha ha ha ..shows the frustration of indians with the motley crew of leaders we have had most of our time since independence.
so ironic that a totally mediocre party like congress ruled for 50 out of 60 and we call it democracy...illiterate voters and illiterate pliticians.

NO,we cannot trust a Govt. whose main leader is a foreigner who is ruling the country in the name of shamless Indian Democracy. We should scrap the deal or it should be pass the test of both houses of parliament after a thoruogh discussion, atleast at this later state as we are afraid that AS IT IS ENDANGERING OUR SOVERIGNITY AND INTEGRITY and we will play WITH US IMPERIALIST FORCES direct control.
The Prime Minister is trying to compromise national security without consulting anybody. And some chaps are trying to flood the board deliberately with irrelevant messgaes. Time for moderator to move them out as this kind of action is no different than goodism that our politicians practice on the street
