We will surely miss Kalam
by on Jul 20, 2007 11:01 PM  Permalink

Its so sad on our parts that a great visionary like Kalam is leaving the presidential chair. India, at this moment when its taking our the global technology need a visionary like Kalam rather than a puppet. I wish there was something like a petition which can be signed by everyone like us and can protest someone becoming a president with the help of crooked politics. As long as these dead beat politicians exist, its hard to see the common man getting any better. Its just became a game between the ruling party and the opposition party sharing tenures for squeezing the nation's finances. July 25th will be a black day for India.. so sad!

The changing definiton of Demecracy in terms of President Mr. Kalam
by Abhishek on Jul 20, 2007 06:04 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

How meagre is the position of common man, in the largest democracy of the world, is evident from the fact that Mr. Kalam is returning to home. More than 90% of countrymen want him to see at 'Rastrapati Bhavan", second time, despite of this we can't do any thing. Isn't this just a joke of democracy? The new definition of Democracy is going to be" government by the politician, of the politician, for the politician". Now the constitution and its rules are no mean respectable. Just to bring the candidate of her choice, the top national leader of our country has turned the feelings of 100 crore Indians. We should strongly resist the situation, as the government may take some ferocius and harmful decisions, just to strengthen their vote bank.

Blame it on our system, as it allows a person with no national appeal to occupy any chair.

Goodbye Mr. Pesident!
by Suresh Menon on Jul 20, 2007 05:12 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Abdul Kalam was a president who actually added a hitherto unknown dimension to an otherwise powerless chair. As a scientist who spearheaded India's missile and space plans, it was only apt that he could serve as the Supreme Commander of the armed forces. With his energy and vision he could define how India could shape herself as a power in every sense. I thank the NDA for giving us Mr.Kalam as president.

Cut to the present scenario, the lady waiting in the wings is just the opposite of Kalam. Here is a person having a pure political background. Her CV says she tended to Indira Gandhi's kitchen during the death of Sanjay. Where as the outgoing president is a man of extensive reading including religious texts, Pratibha has displayed her pathetic knowledge of history and cannot read minority sentiments. Kalam is a scientist of repute, Pratibha has invoked spirits and talked to them. Add to that the line of ugly charges and court orders against her family members.

As a people and its aspirations, India took a major leap during President Kalam's tenure. I feel that feeling will take a major beating in the next five years with an ornament of a president. One step forward, 10 steps backward. Way to go.

Our Dear Today's Mahathma Kalam Father ..(really your service needed here.....)
by ba bu on Jul 20, 2007 04:55 PM  Permalink

I ever be proud that i've lived in the geat period of kalam's life period. His simplicity is identified him to the world. And my humble request and wish to this greatman is that he has to guide(service) the arts & science colleges and govt schools especially which are in rural instead of guiding the big universities such as anna university. Because the pupil who are in big universities are already guided well. But the pupil who studies in arts & science colleges and govt schools really need his motivation. Once if they get well guidance really they will be in part of his dream india...
Atleast he has to share his period for different institutes....
Eventhough im the Engineer i strongly belive and request this. Because in our country the people who has everything gets everything but who has nothing still has nothing....

Thanks & Wishing u all the success Our Dear Today's Mahathma.......
