it pains to see that good people like kalam with such high moral values are being replaced with a person who probably dosent even know what moral values are associated with the office she is going to take the oath and is basking in the applause as if she has attained divinity. this is the tragedy that plagues india. hope that kalams dream come true.

Kalam cannot have a successor
by somu kg on Jul 20, 2007 12:36 PM  Permalink

Dr.Abdul Kalam, the name is full and nobody can succeed him to his stature, it is pity that a country cannot carry such a person for the second term with his energetic life and his life style. Achievements are bigger than any person to speak off. The person showed indian that the caste-creed are just coincidental being human and doing their work to perfection is the real feed back to your nation, I wish a happy future from heart

Can Kalam become Prime Minister if he fights next general election?

1. If not, then where is his popularity?
2. If yes, why is he shying away from his fans and not fighing for PM?

To become a PM, he needs to depend on corrupt politicians and political parties. He is not the person to stoop to that level just for the lure of the chair. Unfortunately, our political system is like this. It is well known that in polls conducted online, where the people voted, he was the most popular. Similarly, if it was left to the people to vote their PM, he would win by a huge margin. It is a pity that our electoral system is such that we have to vote for one corrupt politician or the other and then helplessly watch as they loot the country and make themselves rich. For our country to prosper, the system has to change.
