Dr Kalam brought shame to the Presidential Post as he wanted to stick to second term and his greed for power showed nakedly.
He learnt the politics during his five year term more than his contribution as President of India;although his "dreams" were no better then any common average Indian.
Yes, we must respect the Chiar, The highest and the Mighty,President of India. Let him play a cool innings of teaching not the politics in his greay years.

When he wanted second term,he said "look at my e-mails being jamed by number";but the fact is President of India is elected by Electrol college for the President of India and he she is elected votes casted by the elected reprsentatives of the Nation, not by common man's e-mail or emotions. Ours is the World's biggest Democracy and not Presidential form of Govt., as designed by our Constitution and Peoples representation Act of Republic.
I sincerly pity the "half knowledge" of my Bulletin Board friends, who advocate fake things like BJP and its associates.
Why did Dr. Rajendra Prasad, Dr. S RadhaKrishnan or KR Narayanan were sought after by the elected representative.
We need to look at logical conclusion not hyper- active acertion and absured acusation.
I do value people's sentiment about Dr. Kalam but on Nation's perspective many things were missing; that is the main reason he was not favoured for 2nd term, by the ruling party managers.

sudharak, you must remember that the constitution does allow second term for president. Convention is not a law. convention also says all whites should be booted out of india, but are the congresswallahs follwoing it? if kalam was bad, then who is better...the bootlickers of the MADAM?

He is leaving because Mr Kalam himself was not interested in 2nd term because of the Afzal guru mercy petition.There was a huge pressure on him not to pardon Afzal, the convict of 2001 attack on Indian Parliament. He was visibily sentimental and disturbed when Afzal's kids were praying for their father's life. Its Kalam only,who couldnt take a decision even if he was empowered to do so.Mr Advani was not happy with the delay in hanging Afzal. The best way for him to get out of that mental mess was to get rid of that rubber stamp post. Well done Mr Kalam.

you are a big biased and foolish person Ram Alegavi....does a Muslim need to hang or kill fellow Muslims to prove his patriotism...isnt it enough that he is called father of the India's missile programme...you can very well use that missile on anyone you want to drop and kill millions...why just 1 or 2....like Musharraf you can also go and kill people in mosques, and like Indira you can go and kill people in Gurudwaras, and like Hitlar you can go and kill people in churches...why just hang one Afzal, whose mercy petition was signed by more than 1 million of his Hindu Brothers in India..because they believed he was innocent..go and kill Bin Laden instead..who is preaching hatered day after day and God knows who is his god father...Musharraf or Bush? I also condemn people calling Great Dr. APJ KALAM a coward. Such people are mentally sick and should be put in mental asylum.
I am astonished by their nerve to call names to one of the Greatest sons of Mother India. All such people are hypocrites.
It is cabinet who decides on mercy petitions and unless the anti-national congress ministers send the file to Kalam Saheb, he cannot do any thing. Infact he publicly stated that Afzal must be punished according to Law of Land. Law of Land has already given death sentence to Afzal so there is no hope for him.

Mr Ram,
President Kalam is a learned and sagacious person. I do not think he is a man of that nature and such considerations came into his mind. Anyway we have seen the best President after great Radhakrishan. I wish him a long healthy life.

He came...he has done his job and and now he is leaving.
What he has done between these 3 stages is that he is shown how even a politician can be work without any degrading motives. He has earned every Indian's love, respect and admiration. He is one of those true Indian's who would like to see India developed.
