Why such hue and cry over support to Pratibha Patil by Sena. If you look into the past, late NT Ramarao supported PV Narasimha Rao for Nandyal LS seat. Akalis extended their support to Zail Singh as President. This is routine politics by our great politicans.
Whatsoever the reason could be, this happens to be a wise decision by Balasaheb to support Pratibha. As each day rolling down, her chances are getting more brighter.
As regards various charges against her, they are all fabricated, invented out of jealosy in a single night, when her name was announced. She is totally innocent & even the courts have dismissed them. So forgot all the hatred and accept her as our Hon'ble President in the good spirit. Her tenure as the President will definately be at par with Abdul Kalam.

How can a person who talks to spirits and who have displayed her pathetic reading of history be on par with Kalam? Because she is a Maharastrian?
Its not a question of whether the charges against her are 'fabricated' or not. There is proof in front of the people. And by political ethics, she should abstain from aspiring for the high post until her name is cleared. But your Tai won't do it, because she knows this is a chance of a lifetime.

It is ridiculous argument. It was not a fabricated one and came after annouced her name as UPA presidential candidates. But it got much publicity after her name appeared as UPA candidate and it is natural. People have the rights to know the leaders in detail.

1) Murder Charges : Rajani Patil tried to include G.N. PAtil's ( Pratibha's Brother) name in the accused list. The lower court, High court and Apex Court did not allow this. The widow asked for CBI enquiry. Nobody opposed it. 2) Bank Case : a) It's Ms Sonalkar who was the founder-chair person of the said bank in 1973. Patil was the chairperson only for one month ( March 16 to April 24, 1990). Patil also ceased to be even a director from 1994. b) The default amount is 32 lakhs. ( BJP made it to 17 crores) Loan was given to 2 persons ( BJP made it to 12) ( Source Dy. Director )
c) No part of RBI report directly/indirectly indicts or gives findings against Patil.
3) Patil's Poltical credential : a) 4 decades in Public life b) over 25 years as an MLa c) Almost all ministerial positions in Maharashtra in over 15 years except that of a CM d) She has been a Lok Sabha Member d) She has been a Rajya Sabha Member & deputy Chairperson e) 3 times head of MPCC f) Only sitting Governer of India.
Pratibha survived in her long political career under public scrutiny. I hope this would help the Pritibha bashers to think rationally and "independently" and refrain from foul,abusive languages and derogatory comments.

Shekhawat's non-particpation in Indian Freedom Struggle is well known.
Shekhawat, as the Opposition Leader of Rajasthan Assembly, had written to then Chief Minister Harideo Joshi pleading for the release of a heroin smuggler who was operating on the Indo-Pakistan border and was caught in Barmer. Shekhawat even had to admit, when confronted on the floor of the House with the letter, that he did plead for the smuggler's release.
A drug smuggler, Ashwini Bharadwaj, who claimed publicly that he had provided 12 jeeps for Shekhawat's election campaign and also funded the entire election campaign of his son-in-law Rajvi.
The son-in-law also has been involved in more than a couple of land scams, one involving over 250 bighas. When the matter came up before Shekhawat when he was the Chief Minister, he covered it up saying that matter had been referred to CBI and it had given his son-in-law a clean chit.
But later it was found that no such matter had been referred to the CBI at all and no enquiry therefore had taken place.
A blade company Amfort which he had inaugurated, had gobbled up crore of rupees of deposits by ordinary farmers and disappeared. Several cases were filed across Rajasthan and one FIR even named Shekhawat in it on the orders of a court. However the dalit SP, Mahavir Prasad who had ordered the registration of the FIR, was harassed so much that he died of brain hemorrhage.
Whatever UPA or Indian supporters who are supporting UPA presidential candidate, as an Indian Citzen, millions of Indians like us who are against tainted leaders to become any top post or govt. post, selecting the present UPA tainted leader as INDIAN PRESIDENT, it is a very shameful act and imposition of brute majority of reckless politicians who have no guts or aim to rule or govern a good governance. Their only aim is to impose their own decisions even if it is bad. The present dilema in UPA politics is that more than 59% of their MPs and MLAS who are elected (wrongly) in the name of money/muscle power democracy, are tainted (some are corrupted and some are criminlas). So it is a SAD DAY tomorrow the 19th July 2007 if electroate of Indian Parliament and State Assemblies chose to elect a tainted leader as INDIA's TOP MOST place where common people will never respect that man/woman even if they elected to the TOP POST. It is better that either cancel this presidential election or to chose a non tainted man / woman as president of India. But it is too late, and we are going to get A TAINTED CANDIDATE as a OUR GREAT INDIAN DEMOCRACY's 13th President, if not any great mircale happens at last minute in the election time. Of course, this tainted president is similar to that of tainted UPA leader!!! IT WILL BE A BLACK DAY OF INDIAN DEMOCRACY TOMORROW IF UPA CANDIDATES gets elected as PRESIDENT OF INDIA!!!
Bal Thakrey looks like a real beggar and the action he has taken makes him the most hated figure among non marathi indians! Bala U r a loser! Na ghar ka rahega na ghat ka!

Bhai, hum to kisi ka kuchhc nahi bigadte hain, hum to bas sabka bhala hi karte hain. Shiv Sena ne maharashtra ko kahan se kahan pahucha diya hai, wo sab saheb ki meharbani hai. It's higly unfortunate that Shiv Sena known as Maratha Lions from the land of great warriors like Shivaji have lost balls to a female led Congress which doesn't have a single leader with guts and balls to stand up against her wishes (Lady with Iron Balls of Congress) and have partied with Congress and Left( never heard of this marriage in entire history of world) to support a candidate with shady background for the top office of the country in the name of Maratha. I think maratha's are ashamed of what Shiv Sena has done and brought shame to a bold brave glorious past of maratha. Looks like the tiger thakrey is getting older and has got nothing of its own to stand up so he is taking the help of congress and trying to show that they are still the tigers of Maharashtra. Mind you Mr. Thakrey elections are not far off. and Congress as it has done to many other leaders of its own party will chop off your remaining balls and will dump ya on your own fate. (Shivraj Patil - Another Maratha and Bengali dumped by Lefts Mr. Pranabh Mukherjee).
